Ridiculously bad performance all of a sudden

I have this horrible problem in Destiny 2 recently. I've been getting frame rates of around 40-50fps anywhere in the system except for orbit (~60fps). I get really bad mouse lag as well. The strange thing is, I had amazing performance around a week ago. 1440p and max settings getting around 100-140 fps on average. Before you ask, no, I do not have vsync on, I do not have framecap on, and I have reinstalled literally everything. I verified the game, reinstalled it, deleted cvar, reinstalled geforce drivers with ddu, put my overclocks back to default, and finally reinstalled windows. All of my other games run perfectly fine. In game my gpu usage is around 40-50%. If I put the game on 720p all low settings, I get even worse performance because the gpu goes below 30% and idles. All cpu threads are below 50% usage. I mean ffs, I can run Metro Exodus at 1440p ultra with Raytracing, but can't run destiny on low settings? This problem is driving me mad. Please someone help me. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 1800x @3900mhz GPU: MSI RTX 2070 @~1965mhz RAM: 32gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 @3200mhz SSD: Samsung 960 evo SATA

  • Solved! Windows Update KB4482887 is known for causing frame problems in Apex Legends, Destiny 2, and a few others. Go to Settings > Windows Update > View Update History > Uninstall Updates and uninstall KB4482887. If you have this issue, report it to Microsoft to help them fix it. Don't update Windows until they release a new update fixing this issue.
