Abusive players logging out to dodge reports after trash-talking?

So I was playing some Gambit in Destiny 2 on PC when I came across yet another toxic player who likes to insult their team while failing to hold on to their own motes, but then before I could report them for abusive chat they disconnected from Battle.net and I was no longer able to select them for a report. I ran through the useless loopholes that are the "contact us" buttons on the bottom of both Bungie and Blizzard's sites, before realizing it all just lead back to the same outdated help article that completely fails to address my issue. And now I'm here with it, I don't know what else to do or where else to go. I don't even know if this is an appropriate place for this. I have their battletag and ID, and no idea what to do. Does anyone know what I can do to get a report in?

 • If you are unable to report in-game, you can do so using the form provided here. At least for me, after clicking "Contact Help" (bottom of page) a form opens up with fillable fields, and a "Submit" button. For more info, see the help article regarding reporting: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12960 You should never use the forum to name any individuals, as it is against the Code of Conduct.
