I'm just your average writer stopping in to address the issues in #lore, and hopefully provide some solutions. As most of you know, the fanfiction community has been forced to take refuge in #lore since the destruction of their home, the Gallery. This has caused a clash between users that don't want fanfiction in their feed, and those that just want to share their work. After some exploring and conversing with my literary colleagues, I have come to reiterate basic #lore etiquette and provide a short list of fanfiction communities where writers are accepted with open arms. First of all, if you are posting fanfiction in #lore, it is basic practice to label your post as such. People who don't want to see fanfiction will be able to quickly determine which posts to disregard. Furthermore, if you are in the crowd that does not like fanfiction, there's no reason to be a jerk about it. Simply muting writers is plenty. Downvoting and spiteful comments are detrimental to everyone. With that said, I know many of you writers crave to find likeminded people that will not only read your work, but give you valuable feedback. For this purpose, I have compiled a short list of places where Destiny fanfiction (and most other forms of writing) is supported. Compared to other communities, it's not as feedback heavy or conversation friendly, but you will get a [i]ton[/i] of readership. It is home to many recognizable faces in fanfiction on the forums, as well as general writers who create original works of their own.
