Luna's Howl & Not Forgotten Don't Need a Nerf.

Okay, let me preface this by saying that I don't have Luna's or Not Forgotten, and I've been filleted by them more times than I can count. The one thing that makes these weapons as good as they are is the Magnificent Howl perk. Without Magnificent howl, a god rolled Trust is better in almost every way to both Luna's and Not Forgotten. However, this doesn't mean that these weapons are unfair. This perk is the reward for a very high level of competitive play. The problems arise when people take a weapon from very high level competitive play and introduce it into lower level play, creating an imbalance. What Bungie need to do, is introduce weapons that have a similarly powerful perk in high skill levels or in other activities. Make a better version of Trust (like Breakneck is to Hazard of the Cast) and make that available through playing a lot of and being very good at Gambit. Make a weapon like Luna's and Not Forgotten that you get for resetting your Valor rank Twice in a season, this weapon's stats even on a god roll, would never be the same as Luna's or Not Forgotten, but would be a mixture of the two. Create a weapon that you get through doing the nightfall in a certain time, that also has ridiculous perks, that just effect another archetype of gun. We already have an auto rifle with an awesome perk, A Scout rifle with an awesome perk, and two hand cannons with an awesome perk available through playing certain activities, broaden the activities and broaden the rewards. Going forward in Destiny, we as a community, need to start moving away from "Nerf this" or "Nerf that" and we need to start moving towards "Buff these to compete with this and that" Remember when Graviton Lance got really good? Then Bungie Buffed or Released new weapons and perks that kicked it out of the meta. (This is also Posted On r/destinythegame) #BuffsNotNerfs

  • Imean we are repeating history. D1 thorn meta lasted 9months, the luna/nf meta is going on for about 7months. Its time to for a change, bring em back in the future to proper glory but we need maybe 1-2months where a other gun takes over. Autorifle/tube Grenadelauncher meta anyone?

  • Only thing I'd ask is that their range gets nerfed, but I only ever play Crucible about two or three times a month, so I never really care.

  • One of two things need to happen. Either a re-work or complete removal. These two weapons should never have been in the first place. I can maybe see how Bungie thought it wouldn't be an issue, because they can't aim and could never get two headshots in a row, but outside of their testing environment a high percentage of players can do that all day. Luna's Howl and Not Forgotten are ridiculously OP, and [i]do not[/i] require skill to use. They are a huge problem and need to be removed, replaced, reworked. If every weapon was like Luna's we'd might as well play Call of Duty or something. These weapons need to go.

        This post is exactly how I feel. I just want more powerful weapons with different ways to get them - just like TLW. The toxicity towards these weapons is ridiculous and hopefully if they are perceived as one of many good weapons (I actually already think this) then players won’t be as angry towards seeing them around.

            Just don’t add PVP pinnacle weapons to D3. It’s ok for weapons that excel in Gambit, Strikes or Raids. But a weapon that excels over others in a competitive setting because then [b]everyone[/b] who doesn’t have it will feel pressured and frustrated to complete the quest.

              • Pinnacle weapons should require a major investment, be extremely good (better than exotics), be fixed to a limited number where only about 5k to 10k can receive them, then deleted and replaced with an emblem at season reset. They're either trash or ruin balance and limiting them plus removing them at intervals prevents them becoming meta or breaking long term balance plus ends carries once and for all. .... what's wrong? I thought this was a game for elitists who want to be the only one top feel special while everyone else gets screwed. Aren't you good enough to be one of the chosen 10k to gain the pinnacle weapons while they last? Aren't you good enough?

                • Why don’t put those player who have luna howl to the special room only for Luna howl user , they can kill each other to get they not forgotten , not just go to a room full of new player , low k/d and got easy farm , like Iron Banner , where no handicap light power , thing get worse than normal curcible

I can't do a raid because I suck at raids does that means raid weapons should be nerf because I can't obtain them no. All my friends we all pvp only so we should be rewarded with weapons that are high skill rewards. Players that don't pvp and only raid can't complain about pvp because they don't play pvp. Alot of the player base that don't have Lunas or not forgotten are players that are not good at pvp........

                  • Mostly lunas and not fogotten needs one of two options. 1. Taken out of the game period or 2. The guns can only be played in comp. That's my opinion

                        I recently got luna's howl and yeah it's great but I just love erentil rr4. Erentil is what I used when I didn't have luna's and I never found luna's or not forgotten a problem anyway. I recently got Redriks's broadsword, and I guess with how I play it just clicks with me. I think I actually prefer it to luna's howl and that will remain my primary crucible weapon for a long time. In terms of requirements for the two I think the challenge was great and it shouldn't be changed. I accepted I was never going to get not forgotten, but that's ok, there are some things you just have to accept you can't get. If they ever did overhaul the luna's quest I would say make a luna's howl quest similar to the redriks one. Heavy on the grind and if you really want it you can get it done in a week (with the help of double/triple xp weekend lol) or you can take your time throughout the season.
