Perhaps, in certain circumstances a guardian could be resurrected given they have light left. But in saints situation his has been drained, but there are ways still the Traveler is awake and that can be another way. Perhaps a different timeline in which he still has light left, but then again it’s a Perfect Paradox.

The vex were containing his light so perhaps we could be able to return it to his body?
-
Yea it’s a perfect paradox no? Down but not out yet, perhaps we’ll revisit that spot help guide his light back, or maybe visit a different timeline or perhaps our timelines past or maybe the traveler brings him back.

Tbh it could be entirely possible. They’ve been referencing more and more now. Now that we are lost likely going to see Uldren become hunter so we would have a human warlock, awoken titan then awoken hunter as our vanguard. So we gotta keep that racial balance of exo human awoken somehow

Zavala steps down to cope with his defeat during the Red War and Saint-14 returns to be acting Titan Vanguard, Ikora might step down as well to cope with the loss of a very dear friend and accounts of the Red War, so we might see a new Warlock Vanguard possibly. Who knows maybe in D3 we have Saint-14 acting as Titan Vanguard, new Warlock Vanguard(wouldn’t know who though), and Uldren as Hunter Vanguard(other possibilities are: Marcus Ren, Shiro-4, and maybe Shin Malphur, most likely not a return of Cayde-6). Possibly Ikora becomes new speaker for the traveler as it seems to be communicating to her. Zavala trying to make amends because he feels like he failed everyone, we all can see it, it’s affecting him and the loss of Cayde-6 did hit him hard. He still tries to act like the stoic protector and leader we need but it’s showing more and more unfortunately.

Osiris could easily replace Ikora. But it would take some convincing. Plus it would add more development to his character. Zavala could even die creating a need for a new vanguard. Zavala could go out heroically sacrificing himself to get the city some time to make a plan to defeat the darkness. Taking out a ship with a fist of havoc or something along those lines. Warlock Vanguard: Osiris Hunter Vanguard: Uldren Sov Titan Vanguard: Saint-14

I don’t know about Osiris, he’s preoccupied with the Vex and infinite forest. If he were to leave Mercury then who would attempt to interfere with the Vex, and besides his interest in “controlling” the Infinite Forest would hinder his ability to act as Warlock Vanguard, as it would consume his time. In another time I would agree that he be reinstated as Warlock Vanguard but again there would be no one who could take his place within the Infinite Forest. I mean maybe perhaps Praedyth but that’s even pushing it how qualified is he, we know he is still alive trapped in alternate time streams perhaps we save him from that dark fate and he takes the Warlock Vanguard position.
