Competitive needs new Game types & Better Matchmaking

The current selection of comp game modes is severely lacking and boring. It is pretty much the same modes from launch with a few quickplay ones added which don’t belong in comp (clash & control). The thing is, there are already round-type modes in the game that do fit comp (lockdown, showdown, etc.). However, they are not actually part of the comp playlist. I believe Bungie got scared because 1 new mode received negative reception, so they removed it and vowed to never add any new modes to comp. That is not the right approach. If a mode is disliked, then tweak it so it is better received. The practice of simply removing the modes & not adding anything else, especially 1 & a half year+ after launch just spells laziness. While we’re at it, we also need improvement to competitive (& all) matchmaking so it actually takes k/d or elo into account. Lopsided matches should be a rare occurrence, not the norm as they currently are. To solve many problems in competitive, including matches where someone quits early (and to avoid exploits), losses should in general also stop giving negative (or positive) progress, as it turns players off the mode and the game as a whole, especially when many of the losses feel undeserved (e.g. getting a bad team).
