Indepth guide on how you, the average player, can obtain Lunas Howl.

Firstly, let's start off with the requirements: - complete 10 matches in comp - 150 hand cannon final blows in comp - 200 solar final blows in comp - complete 3 rumble matches - 100 precision hand cannon final blows in comp - reach fabled (2100 glory) This quest, with the exception of reaching fabled, is both character specific and must be completed in order. Steps will carry over seasons (except reaching fabled) Before you start you should want to choose your character and subclass. Pick the one you're most comfortable with as you're going to be stuck with it. Each of the classes has a strong solar option for that quest step, that being bottom three dawnblade, mid tree gunslinger and top three hammers. Next is you'll want to have a hand cannon you're comfortable with, you're going to be using it a lot. In the current meta on console, 180s are the strongest due to their perfect in-air accuracy and their stable shots. The best option here is trust, a legendary cannon from gambit. Ideally, you'll want 2 rolls, one with explosive shot, one without. The roll drifter sells is a decent roll with explosive shot. The reason for the 2 rolls is that precision final blows with explosive shot are inconsistent, if an enemy is killed with the explosion rather than the initial shot, itll count as a bodulyshot kill. Why is explosive shot so important? 2 reasons. Flinch. Damage drop off. Getting shot with explosive shot will make it more difficult for an opponent to land their shots. The lack of damage drop off is the real juicy part though, it allows you to challenge at any range. Next, you'll need a good shotgun. Dusk rock is the obvious choice here. Go to EDZ, pathfinders crash, n farm that lost sector over n over. In short, you're looking for a roll with rifled barrel or full choke, accuratised rounds and range masterwork. To get a good roll, itll take about 2 hours realistically. It's boring, grab some friends in a party chat... These will be your main 2 weapons. Though best to have some other options in the back pocket such as: Bygones Retold tale or mindbinders (solar) Polaris lance (solar) Blast furnace Ace of spades Oh I forgot, heavy weapon, wardcliff is the king, its nuts. If legendary, hammerhead. Armour: 4 or 5 super mods, its cringeworthy but having the first super of the game can potentially win the entire match if snowballed correctly. Now your ready for comp. Complete the 10 matches. Use whatever you want, use this time to learn the game modes. Winning isn't necessary. Go in solo. You're objective is the quest steps and getting a positive kd. Use your trust as your main weapon, and keep slightly further back than you usually would with a HC, you have explosive shot and with win against other HC without it at range. In low glory you'll run in many others completing the steps. Next up the solar final blows, switch to your solar subclass. This combined with trust (a solar weapon) will get this step done relatively quickly. Rumble matches. You don't have to win, only complete. Easy. Precision final blows. Okay this is the part where it can start to get tough depending on what glory you're at. This is why I said earlier to solo. You don't want to be running into teams of 4 lunas as it can become frustrating. Trust me, i did it the stupid way. Switch now off your explosive shot onto your other HC. Now you're onto the glory rank. There are two way of doing this, the long road or the shortcut. The long road involves playing at least 3 matches a week in comp, every week. This will accumulate bonus points I believe its 60 per week. As there are 12 weeks to a season, you'll get 720 FREE points if you took the long road. In the last 1-2 weeks, grab a team do the last little bit. If you have 1 week remaining you only have to reach 2040 as the bonus points will give you your 2100. The shortcut. Remember how I said earlier to keep a positive kd? This was for a nasty, yet realistic issue. Most teams in the fire team chat will ask for a certain kd to join. The better your kd, general the better team you'll get. Basic strategy: Clash: People say there's no obj in clash. I disagree. The obj is power ammo and spawn manipulation. Who ever controls mid map and power ammo will usually win. Control: Get 2 zones, B is the match winner, if you lose it, use either heavy or 1 super to push other team back and reclaim. Countdown: Stick with your team, get a pick as a team and push up to the res. Plant if you can, many teams will panic and make bad plays as they're on a timer. Super chaining is key. Say you're team is 2-1 up and you're last alive against 4 - DO NOT USE YOUR SUPER. Either go for power or challenge quickly so the enemy doesn't build super. Know when to take the L. Survival: Who ever gets first heavy wins the round, notice a trend here? Again, think but your super, use supers to regain lost ground. If your heavily in the lead, save them for next round. Not everyone is a slayer in comp. Communication wins games. If you die, don't complain, call out where the person who killed you is, their hp and where they're going. There are so many other points I could go over but know that you can do this. It's going to be tough but you'll come out of it a better player.
