Considering the laws of chance and probability, As you gather more exotics, the more new ones you gain, the less likely you are of gaining more new ones. We aren’t talking about a small loot pool here, we are talking about a pool of 100+. When you bought the dlc you were promised the story, you were promised access to the exotics.

 • We were? I thought we were given access to the ability to get the weapons.

 • No, because being promised access to the weapons directly meant that you’re gonna get them straight away.

 • I mean the probability of getting an exotic you don't have should be 50% at the very least. Also it should be weighted towards the pool that you have the least of. Let's say you have every single boot exotic for your class. The probability of getting boots as an exotic should be 0%. Now let's say you only have 2 primary weapon exotics, the chance to get a primary weapon exotc should be 75%, and the chance it's new should be by the law of probability fairly high. Then as your collection fills out, the probability shifts around so you over time get more stuff you don't have. Then when you are only missing 1 thing in a slot, that 50% chance for something new really helps. It won't give everyone everything instantly, but it will feel better to get exotics because the numbers are pushing you towards a full collection. Then once you have everything it can go ahead and just give you random exotics.

 • But exotic armours have random rolls? What if I get a bad roll, should I be stuck with it forever?

 • Xur has specific rolls for his stock. Also as I said once your collection is complete it can give you random exotics. Also with how Exotics drops now you are not very likely to get the same armor you've had with a good roll. Would you rather have new exotics or a very low chance to get a repeat with a better roll. Besides glass needles should come back anyway.

 • The gear xur sells always have different rolls, most of the time they’re ones that help with the specific part of gameplay the exotics help with. I think the way the exotics work now are fine, I get a new exotic every now and then, just last week I got the exotic sword.
