Forges, the collection, and the future of D2 vanilla content. Nothing will be forgotten. Never again!

Just an idea to help us get y1 weapons as y2 random rolls from our collections. This uses new forges and forge HVT's on other planets with a loot pool consisting of y1 weapons reskined as y2 rr's (much like the Swift Ride XE8375) Links will be provided sending to Light.gg for information. Both new forge ideas will follow similar timed wave mechanics in the original forges. If either forge is not completed in the allotted time, the forging process ends normally with no frame rewarded. [b]The Solarium Forge on Titan[/b] and [b]Terrabase Charon on Io[/b]: Would you like to know more? [quote][u]Solarium Forge[/u] Instead of throwing 40 charges in 2 rounds followed by a boss battle, this forge is a fight to clear (3) randomly placed locked hive runs that house heavy charges that suppress the wielder. The fireteam members need to protect the wielder so they can carry the charges back to the base of the forge in order to power it up. The boss wave is pretty much the Omnigul strike boss fight set in the Solarium space. This activity takes mechanics seen in the Siege Engine part of the Wrath of the Machine D1 raid and the Omnigul boss fight in the Will of Crota D1 strike. Suppressing the charge wielder makes them vulnerable to the hordes of Thrall that spawn after a rune is unlocked. It is up to the other two fireteam members to escort that player to the base of the forge where they need to defend it in a circle for (x) seconds (much like the Castellum part of the Leviathan Raid or the Vex Construction PE) . If any [specific] Thrall enter the circle the timer of the charge will pause forcing the Guardians to clear the area. This needs to be done 3 times to progress to the boss fight. After the second charge has been completed an invulnerable Abyssal Champion will spawn to pursue the Guardians. The fireteam needs to find ways of coaxing the Champion away from the wielder, once the wielder applies the charge the Abyssal Champion de-spawns allowing players to protect the final charge from the Thrall horde. [/quote] [quote][u]Terrabase Charon Forge[/u] Again, instead of the original forge mechanic, this forge has the fireteam facing off against 3 different rounds of different enemies followed by 2 mini bosses and one final boss respectively. Each mini boss drops a heap of charges for the fireteam members to chuck into the forge. However, once the mini boss in each round is destroyed the enemies spawn countermeasures based on their race: [u]Cabal[/u] - If either wave 1 or 2, then mini boss fight will be a shielded Centurion. - If mini boss is defeated then the wave will spawn war beasts and more sniper psions. - If the 3rd and final wave is Cabal then the boss will be a group of Psion Flayers. [u]Vex[/u] - If either wave 1 or 2, then mini boss fight will be a Large single shielded Hydra. - If mini boss is defeated then the wave will spawn fanatics and shielding goblins. - If the 3rd and final wave is Vex then the boss will be a new larger Harpy that is equipped with a Cyclops void mortar. (pretty much a mobile Cyclops. the low health berserk mode shoots waves of void energy that damage and suppress guardians in mid/close range.) [u]Taken[/u] - If either wave 1 or 2, then mini boss fight will be an invisible Minotaur with Taken suppression fields spawning around the area. - If mini boss is defeated then the wave will spawn Wizards who in turn, spawn shadow thrall to assault the spot of the defeated boss. - If the 3rd and final wave is Taken then the boss fight will be a single large Taken knight accompanied by two healing Wizards. [/quote] [u]Loot Loot Loot[/u] The new system to introduce forging directly from your collections is based on weekly available frames. You can grab frames directly from the collections so long as you have the materials. You will still have to talk to ADA-1 for materials and forge related bounties. ADA-1 will still have the option of 2/3 powerful frames each week for all of the Forge unique weapons along with 3 different weapon class frames for the two new forges. These 3 different weapon classes can rotate between each type of D1 vanilla weapon. (faction specific, DLC, activity, and raid weapons are excluded from the loot pool as they will have their own y2 variants acquired by other means). Add some submachine guns, sidearms, and special and heavy weapons from D1 vanilla. These weapons will all fill the loot pool of the specific frames each week. [u]The weekly frame rotation[/u] These rotations will be specified by ADA-1 and will require unique Black Armory material to acquire. From the collections, players can see what weapons will be available through each frame and once at lease one version of each weapon (in a particular type) is acquired then the next time that type is available again you get to pick the rr weapon. For example, If all the auto rifles have been checked off the list after grinding the frames then the next time you complete an auto rifle frame you get to pick the specific model. So you've been grinding a bunch of Auto Rifle frames and received at least one Scathelocke, Perseverance, Uriel's Gift, and Cuboid ARu. Now, you complete another AR frame and ADA-1 lets you decide which of the 4 it will be. All are obviously random rolled. duh [spoiler]How you do that would be up to bungie, this just rewards the dedicated players and takes away some RNG for the late game grinding.
