Warlocks and their "PvP exotics."

Simply put, we don't have them. Out of all of the exotics that warlocks have, a whopping 3 of them are worth putting on in crucible. Transversive Steps, Ophidian Aspect, and Sanguine Alchemy. Contraverse Hold used to be up there too, but now that's made null by the fact that it only works on the worst subclass Warlocks have. And the few exotics we do have do almost nothing really gamechanging. Steps and Aspect are both passive buffs that do nothing but save a little time, and Sanguine Alchemy is useless until you have a rift up and you find yourself in the very situational position to use it. Every other exotic we have is almost exclusively tied to ability regen, and that doesn't really make too much of a difference when our grenades have no utility outside of chip damage, our melees all make little difference whether they're charged or uncharged, and our rifts are more often than not a waste of time to use. Why can't Eye of Another World actually track enemies instead of highlight them in red (which is really only useful if you're blind.) Hunters have Foetracer, which at least has uses, and I don't even need to mention Titans. I could give a laundry list of exotics that Hunters could feasibly uses in Crucible, and for Titans I'm hard pressed to find an exotic that CAN'T be used. I don't want OEM for Warlocks. I just want an exotic that does something I can play around, not some passive regen buff or increased weapon handling.

    • The bottom line is that Warlocks will never be a viable class in PvP in this game. Because what makes Warlocks viable are their abilities. The whole point of the class is that we exchange agility and durability in return for powerful abilities. The problem is that the tryhard part of the community wants PVP to be a gun game....and a game based on "gun skill". So every time Warlocks are elevated to the point where they can compete against the abilities of Hunters and Titans.....offset their advantages in agility and durability...... ...you hear the nerf cries start from tryhards and streamers.....then Bungie caves and nerfs them back into basically being a support class.

lets take a look warlocks- ophidian aspect transversive steps honourable mentions- sanguine alchemy, karnstein armlets hunters- gwisin shards stompees honourable mentions- dragon’s shadow, lucky pants titans- one eyed mask one eyed mask one eyed mask synthoceps honourable mention- insurmountable skullfort, lion rampant (pc only) the spread of pvp exotics between classes seems pretty even to me. yes, hunters do have more, but two of them only work with a super and one of those two has been nerfed. warlocks have a lot of exotics oriented towards neutral game, and they do an amazing job at it. transversive steps and ophidian aspect are S tier neutral game exotics; they are extremely useful in engagements not involving abilities. same deal with titans with mask, synthoceps, and lion rampants. i agree that warlocks fall a little short in the current pvp balance, but it is not because of exotics. it is subclass abilities and the lack of maneuverability with their jumps that makes them lacklustre.

        • You don't know how to Warlock. Try Titan.

          • And what’s good on Titans? Other then OEM they have no exotics whatsoever to use in PvP. Heck Hunters don’t have any good exotics either really, they only have Shards and Vest which are specifically made for there supers. Which are only useful around 25% of a match. Warlocks exotics are always up (Ophidian and Transversive) and are active throughout the whole game, if anything they have the best exotics currently...

            • While we’re at it how about we also complain about the fact the warlocks only have two sets of year 2 heavy warlock armor: the new raid set which can’t be readily farmed, and the winter solstice armor which is gone now and couldn’t be farmed without spending money. Meanwhile titans and hunters have sets that boost resilience, mobility, and restoration readily available as open world drops with random perks. As it stands, if warlocks want to have a high resilience they either have to sacrifice their perks for year 1 armor or sacrifice their mod slot for resilience mods.

            • Contraverse Hold is pretty decent for PvP. Gotten full grenade charges back from players running across my vortex grenade. Nezarec's Sin is also good, but again, ability regen lol. Fun fact: Eye of Another World can highlight invisble Spectral Blade supers. Not like it's useful but whatever. We do need something more than what we've had so far.

              • 😂😂😂worst subclass... Voidwalker is still top tier on warlock. And they have more crucible exotics than that. Karnstein. Verity's brow. Nazarecks's sin. Skull of dire ahamkara. People always overreact about nerfs and never even try most exotics.

                • I agree. The best was the nezerecs sins with the roaming void warp. Now I use the steps and the aspects. Sad and yes the warlocks needs a buff to their exotics. The stag should allow over shielding to be taken from rifts for 5 seconds and the sanguine robes should provide aim down sight radar AND wall hack perks while in rifts up to 75 meters. They need to buff the wings of dawn and the whole top tree flame sword. Accuracy in air is terrible.

                • Just give us an exotic that grants us Split from D1 for Nova Bombs. I would probably never use another Void-based exotic again. That or The Ram seeing as all Warlock gear sets cater to mobility or restoration. I miss my tanky space wizard!
