Why are there no average Gambit players?

The matchmaking for Gambit is appallingly bad. It routinely fills one team with guys that are veritable War Gods and the other with people so clueless about Gambit that you wind up amazed they know which end of the rifle to press into their shoulder. You either get an exciting match with good players, or one side is utterly worthless while the other throws ogre blockers at whim. Why is that? Why is the game incapable of figuring out that neophytes and walking natural disasters should not be pitted against each other? PLEASE fix this! I am tired of being stuck onto Gambit teams where no matter what I do, I can't possibly win because my team mates would make the same effective contribution to the win AFK as they do actively playing!

  • Tell me about it. I had one game, this was like a month or 2 back, where I completed the Gambit match with 24 kills, 80-90 enemies defeated, 75-80 motes banked, and 14-16 motes lost. Now let me remind you that my team lost and I ended with a “hate mail” saying “get gud scrub go play Comp if you’re that sweaty”. Hmmmmm what was I supposed to do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Let them invade and slaughter us?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?? What makes it worse is the fact that my team didn’t even invade once and did nothing against the invader. Long story short, Gambit needs a re-work in matchmaking like you said and mechanics of the game mode.

  • Im just gonna leave this here. Just make a team on the app man and grind out. Or use your clan members. Grinding gambit solo its hit and miss. Theres a few guys you can see all the time: 1. The moter - that guy that ALWAYS goes for 15 motes. Even when the invader is in he still doesnt bank, he keeps killing even though he cant pickup more than 15 motes. 2. The wannabe invader - the guy that ALWAYS gets the heavy, invades and then gets killed right away. Don't mind him, he's working on his Army of One medals. He's stuck at 1/3 for life. 3. The HVT hunter - this guy does not waste bullets on normal ads. He saves all his ammo for the HVT. If they dont appear during the game he finishes the game with full heavy/special ammo. 4. The crucible player - whenever theres an invader on the field this guy always rushes him with a shotgun while sliding. He always forgets that the Gambit maps are different than the Crucible maps and dies to the invader every single time without managing to get to him. Im sure I missed a few guys so feel free to add.

    • In addition to the matchmaking already being bad, why is it when I finally get a team mate that knows what's going on and the two of us are hammering it out together... when the match is over, they take that team mate and put him against me. 😒 Because Lord forbid we have two competent players out of four. Only one per team.

IMHO Gambit is too long of a match for very little reward. It just gets not fun. When you are lvl'n your people each week you have to spend way too much time there because of the weekly bounty. It gets players burnt out fast. So you are left with only people. 1. Doing their milestone and weekly bounties and hating life atm. 2. People who enjoy it and are owning. 3. People doing a quest/bounty that forces them to play in a way that hurts the team. Transmat firing
