Wifi can be interfered with by many common day-to-day things and even a microscopic hiccup is enough for Destiny to record a problematic condition. It has an extremely low threshold for interference, meaning it needs a persistent premium connection ([i]low latency / zero packet loss[/i]) - not a high bandwidth one. Therefore having the biggest bandwidth package is not really a benefit is it still has latency or packet loss.
Even using ethernet can still result in hiccups, but it is more likely to be prominent with wifi, and you may not even notice it, but Destiny will.
That's the best probable explanation you will see most likely, without any direct testing. Bungie will not discuss reasons for bans etc.
