I'm not sure what smgs are supposed to counter but shotguns right now isn't working well.
My suggestion is that they get a stability buff and a range nerf with a dash of extra damage. Up close they should melt but more often than not you'll miss shots and get a gut full of dust rock in the chest.

I hate the way the feels like it wants to go where ever it wants while I'm pulling the trigger. Like the gun is, floating out of my control. those bouncy scout rifles are a pain as well, like I'm bouncing on a trampoline while trying to shoot a moving target. Lol Submachines feel like you enter suddenly entered zero gravity when you pulled the trigger.

That would be nice. Instead of smgs and 720 autos fighting over the same ranges give 720’s that range and smgs could be absolutely disgusting in that 10-17 meter range. Maybe letting them deal 33 to the head for 600’s up close but as soon as they pass 10 meters the falloff is just insane

Get a submachine gun that has kill clip. It is actually pretty good. Also put a counterbalance mod on if recoil is too much.
