D&D Diary 10: Return of BeeBee

I had two characters ready, a Ranger and a Healer, but the other two brought a Ranger and a Healer… So screw it. Bitterblossom is back! Anyway, some info about what happened with the others since the party is currently split due to a Kraken body slamming our puny boat:
-Timmy the Tiefling pulled a Jack Sparrow and jumped in a row boat while everyone else was fighting. Drahg got tossed into the sea, but managed to escape the tentacles and swim up to the row boat. They fought a bit but Drahg was already pretty beat up and exhausted so Timmy managed to knock him unconscious and they drifted away. -Maria was on the ship when it was smashed, but managed to crawl onto some debris and is also drifting away. -Stubbles and Kenjin were going to die but Stubbles grabbed his glowy crystal and prayed really hard and managed to save them. -Gabby, Lux, and Umbra were eaten by the Kraken and could not be saved by Divine Intervention. -Drahg and Timmy’s boat finally washed up on a beach, along with both Stubbles and Kenjin a bit further away. Drahg and Timmy fought some more before Kenjin and Stubbles met back up with them and broke them up. That group is currently hiking through a jungle being led by Drahg, who claims to know where they are.
Meanwhile… Actually, I guess this starts a bit before all that… whatevs, back to BeeBee! Day 25 I just can’t catch a break. I had this plan to stowaway on a ship headed for Sarenport and track down the bastards that set me up, but a few days in we were attacked by pirates. I was hidden in a little nook behind some crates and barrels of food and wine when I heard the shouting and cannon fire above. Poking my head up from the lower deck, I saw hooks launch up from the side. Some of the crew attempted to remove the hooks before the pirates could climb up, but a snow-white skinned woman with long blue hair and a bow levitated up and shot three of them down instantly. She laughed and shouted, “Just give up! We want your ship, not your lives!” The pirates climbing up were a mix of Half-Orcs, Humans, a couple of Halflings, and even a Tortle somehow managed to shamble up the side. Some of the crew fought, but they didn’t stand a chance. When a fourth of them fell the captain ordered his men to surrender and they turned their weapons over to the pirates. The woman, an Air Genasi I think, drifted over to the ship and landed on the upper deck, resting her arm on the wheel. Then she gave a speech that started off something like, “You all have the pleasure of being defeated by The Dread Pirate Zephyr!” I was so distracted by her, I hadn’t noticed the Tortle come over to the stairs until he poked me with his staff. He told me to get with the others...I think. He has a weird, thick accent I’ve never heard before. As I fluttered over to the crew, the captain saw me and said, “That things not one of mine!” Zephyr heard this and shouted, “A stowaway? And an adorable one at that! Come, sit on my shoulder like a parrot! I always wanted one but a fairy will do for now!” If I thought I could take them all on, I’d have stabbed her in the throat. Zephyr had the crew transfer the cargo from her old ship to this one via a large board that was used as a docking ramp. It was a steep angle and the waves rocking the ships made it difficult, but an hour later it was done. She was kind enough to leave them what little food and fresh water they had onboard her old ship so the crew would survive the trip back to Darkwater. While that happened, Zephyr and I talked a bit and made a deal. She found a map that leads to some treasure in a jungle on the other side of the sea (which is why she needed a bigger ship). The treasure is apparently in some old ruins full of traps and puzzles, I told her I’m pretty good with those, so ill help her and then she’ll take me to Sarenport. To be honest… I’m curious. And also poor as dirt so the money will help when I get back to the mainland. It’s a couple weeks journey, so I won’t bother popping in unless something interesting happens. Day 29 Something happened. Lookout spotted some debris floating about from a ship. I couldn’t help but think about my friends on the Serenite and that fireball that fell from the sky. Then my fears were confirmed when we spotted a body of Maria lying on some wood. They brought her onboard and the Tortle, Gustave or Gus, used some healing magic to get her back on her feet. “The Dread Pirate” Zephyr was quick to introduce herself, “Hi! I’m The Dread Pirate Zephyr and I just saved your life, which means it belongs to me now! Fair deal, yeah?” Maria was a bit woozy still, but she noticed me and then said my name…apparently she can speak now? We didn’t get a chance to catch up as some Merrow, which are like merfolk but evil, jumped onto the deck. They were probably scavenging the wreckage looking for bodies… anyway, we killed them. The pirates were a bit shocked as Maria wolfed out and tore half of them apart with her claws and teeth, but Zephyr loved it. She’s a bit odd… I like her! After we’d dumped the stinking bodies overboard, Maria told us what had happened. They saw the fireball in the sky, obviously, and Stubbles had a dream about it and another glowing crystal like the one Timmy found. They sailed to some spooky cursed island, fought an army of snake men, and got the crystal. When they left the island, they hit dead water and were carried by the current into a storm and a Kraken. She saw Drahg, Gabby, the twins they picked up on the island dragged into the depths, but she doesn’t know the fate of the rest of our friends. We asked Zephyr to help us search for more survivors and she agreed after I convinced her they would be useful. Her and the Tortle can hold their breath quite a while, so we searched the surface while they plundered the remains of the Serenite. Aside from more Merrow and some sacks of coins and treasures (from the island, according to Maria), we found no trace. Zephyr called the search off and Gus started patching wounds while we lifted anchor and set off for the continent of Skojempe. The land of the Goliaths, Giants, and really big monsters. I miss civilization.
