We've had projections for a while now and personally i haven't figured out their use, nor have i seen anyone making much use of them... and it got me thinking.
The only thing i can think of is what you see in the image above. For now i think Crucible is the best choice, since most likely every one has one by now.
So... the idea is that if you're alone but wouldn't mind teaming up with someone for some ass kicking, display your Crucible projection in the designated area in the tower and wait a few minutes to see if anyone wants to team up. This in my opinion is mostly for solo players but could also work for fire teams that are missing that one last Guardian to make a full 4 or 6 ppl team.
i think the general rule here would be that there is no commitments because you might not like the playstyle of the other Guardian/s.
Basically, we won't have to go off game to find ppl anymore, do it right in-game.
i chose this area because it's right there where Guardians land and is clearly visible, plus you won't have to run around the entire tower to see if anyone is looking.
So if you think this is a good idea... spread the word and use it yourself and come back to this forum and let us know your experiences with it, bump this thread so we gain more awareness.
On a final note, if this catches on maybe Bungie will make projections for each Crucible playlist, not just Crucible in general and all we'll have to do if looking to team up is... look to see what projections are being displayed and if it REALLY catches on, this might also work for Raids, Strikes and Gambit, and if THAT works... maybe Bungie can make the area more of a section of it's own (like the downstairs Club in D1). A good part of this is that you do not lose the projection if you change it or take it off.

I like the idea, problem is is that I don’t have one
-
I dont think this will catch on because the Fireteams section of the app works pretty well, but its a good idea, and who am I to say it wont work?
-
It doesn't matter how good an idea is, bungie doesn't implement anything that a member of the community came up with
-
yes i love me some prong toni

Cat projection for if you want to meet up irl to pet some cats
-
I like this. Take a bump
So... the idea is that if you're alone but wouldn't mind teaming up with someone for some ass kicking
Is this receiving or giving? I already get enough of this in crucible soloing and prefer not to join a team specially looking to get stomped. All right class, let’s see a show of projections of who wants a pub stomping today. Alright XxHuNtErSrUlEuDrUlExX put your projection down, we don’t need your 3.0 KD, 50 kill streaks in here.

I am here because I figured you would say some lores and connections of Oni and Destiny. :-(
-
Bump. Folks should also use the Vanguard projection for Nightfall teaming.

Edited by Starstriker7: 1/18/2019 3:45:28 PMI support the concept, but this execution would probably not work. Hopefully Bungie sees this though and can implement a suitable way to design something that works in game. But who am I to stand in the way if this catches on? All the best, guardian! 👊🏼😁

When you said Oni I was thinking a manga kung-fu cyberpunk chick.

Oni: Sword Base

This is seriously an excellent idea. Love it. Reminds me of the terminal thingo in division where you can look for people to free roam etc
-
Or they could just implement lfg into the game.

Edited by holydracoeva: 1/18/2019 3:54:30 PMI think the projections were solely ment to dilute eververses loot pool, they were added with festival of the lost, at least i think, and that made it less likely to get the armor.

I like this. Bump.

Really great idea. Don’t think it’ll catch on too much, but I like the concept.
-
Bump for nightfalls!!
-
Projections are just another way of fleshing out the Tess rewards, pointless rewards that take best part of 30 seconds to design 200 (Black Armoury) silver got me a bloomin projection! Eververse ripoffs that should be disbanded

Nice idea. Something constructive for a change.
