The full description of the Poison Arrows perk is:
Arrows fired quickly after a full draw become poison arrows. Precision hits with poison arrows spread poison to nearby enemies.
In other words, if you wait for too long, the Poison Arrows perk will not trigger.

 • Not really what he’s talking about but not wrong either

 • Since the OP did not mention releasing the arrows quickly, I figured it was appropriate to point out that part of the perk triggering mechanism.

 • Oath keepers override that part of the perk. Which he mentions.

 • The perk of Oathkeeper is to hold bow charge indefinitely... Do you have a source for it overriding the quick release requirement?

 • The quick release of for a perfect shot, when you pull back it becomes a pinkish purple, you have to release then. If it turns dark purple the poison is gone. I.E. no more perfect shot for the extra precision damage, like with every other bow. Oathkeepers not only allow you to hold it indefinitely but also hold perfect shot longer. Meaning it increases that window. There is a video by Luckky showcasing this. It’s been this way since bows released. Also this is not the first time that oathkeepers or exotics in general do not fully specify their perks correctly as in with oathkeepers again; they decrease draw time but it is such a small amount it’s barely noticeable. This caused bungie to simply remove that saying from the perk as to not cause confusion.

 • Ok, I consider myself educated on the matter and I thank you for that. I'll have to do some field testing myself. What you said about the perfect shot though, there still is a possibility the shot left the bow once perfect shot was no longer active and thus did not trigger the desired effects. However, on the other hand, considering all requirements for triggering are met, there could be an issue here. Will have to wait for OP to respond to Bungie's query...

 • Oathkeeper allows a perfect draw to be held indefinitely.

 • True, and that part was already clarified in the thread. However, one of the main points I was after would be whether or not the Oathkeeper overrides the quick release requirement for the Le Monarque's poison perk. Having said that though, I have experienced some notable inconsistencies while testing this a little bit. Will need to test a bit more.

 • Yea like I said you weren’t wrong but he’s not the first to say if the arrow travels X amount of distance the poison no longer applies even if all requirements are met. But there’s been nothing from bungie yet. I myself haven’t tested the distance thing yet but maybe tonight after work

 • This is indeed an issue. I found this thread after an Iron Banner game of half of my arrows not applying poison when I mostly used the bow at longer ranges. Again, using Oath Keepers, but the problem also occurs when not using them and still landing the perfect shot. I have tested both. It's as though the poison has some range drop off we're not being told about where, after a set distance, the poison falls off the arrow. It makes the weapon incredibly inconsistent at medium-long range and feels very unsatisfying.
