Ooh, on top of everything else I've listed about this event being the same as last year but with cookies that give the exact same crap as literally anything else in the game, I found out how generous Bungie is!
The glimmer trail from the sparrow you get that isn't even instant summoning off the bat? It gives 1 glimmer every 10 metres or so. So uh, couple of things:
A. You've gotta be behind the thing to get the glimmer so the rider gets nothing.
B. HOLY SHIT THE GENEROSITY OF BUNGIE KNOWS NO BOUNDS PEOPLE!
Is anyone else getting mercury flashbacks? 2 tokens and a blue is somehow better than everything in this event.
I mean seriously, we get an event that can barely be called that, the advertisements for the event feature the sparrow and machine gun.
The sparrow gives nothing new at all and for all the work you need to put in for its perks, it only functions during the dawning.
The machine gun is a worse forge machine gun that is given to you immediately. At least in the festival of the lost, we had to work for the damn auto rifle and it dropped masterworked.
So your advertisement for the dawning is a weapon that's given out and a sparrow that's only unique in its look, and finally baking -blam!-ing cookies. All this is somehow distracting people from the fact that all we have to truly earn, is through eververse once again with a "new" event. Nothing fun or new to do to earn cool shaders or anything, just kill enemies and press a button for a cookie that rewards you upon delivery with a blue.

The sparrow makes sense, considering your the one giving glimmer in the “season of giving”. A little selfish with that mindset, is it not?
-
It makes sense sure but nobody else is gonna use it anyway given the fact it gives a whole 1 glimmer. Not really selfish, I mean I could just get off the sparrow and go grab it. You completely missed the point, there's no generosity here at all in "the season of giving". We've been given nothing but the same thing as last year, more eververse crap to grind for.

Besides the content they did give you, instead of the same thing last year.

Which is the ability to bake cookies by doing what we already do to get rewards we already get. Technically it's new, but it's not adding anything really new at all. Kill crap, deliver crap, get crappy reward, rinse and repeat. Last year all we had to earn was through eververse, this year is the same. The sparrow does jack shit, the MG is only there to be a solar MG with worse stats than both other MG's and it's literally given to you right away. What's there to earn? Eververse gear, plus there's another emote locked behind a paywall. At least in the festival of the lost we had something different. It was killing more ads but it was different, it had more to do and we earned an auto rifle as well as emblems and a shader. Somehow people are ok with having a repeat of last year's dawning with a cooking simulator slapped on it to give the illusion of 'new' stuff when it's not any different to what we already do and get. It's all literally the same and the 2 items you're given suck.

Plenty of people disagree with you and are really enjoying the Dawning. I am one of them. Maybe Battlefield V would be better suited for you?
-
That's fine, you're allowed to enjoy it. I was simply hoping for something to do that has anything new like the festival of the lost event. What can you earn from cookies? Pretty much nothing you can't earn elsewhere, right? What were we angry at last year, the lack of any earnable rewards outside of eververse. What do we have now? A sparrow that does almost nothing that only works in the dawning and a machine gun that is only there to be solar and is worse than both other machine guns. At least acknowledge that this year is the same as last year with a baking activity off to the side that grants nothing new. Plus, I've already said that the only argument against SRL which was established as a part of the dawning was, "it's not a racing game", those same people think that cooking Mama Jr is ok instead.

Were they supposed to make tons of new content for a yearly event? They haven’t before, why would they start now?
