Mouse connectivity/input issues - only in Destiny 2, since Solstice of Heroes update

Ever since the Solstice of Heroes update, my game almost always launches with severe mouse input loss that only occurs while controlling my character in-world (not in menus, inv, char page, orbit etc.). This manifests as frequent loss of mouse tracking (inability to turn smoothly or desired amount), irregular lost mouse button presses, and rarely, mouse button commands will continually trigger as if being held down. These issues only affect mouse input, not keyboard input, and occur in the same fashion when using a different mouse, different USB ports, after changing all manner of settings on the mouse manufacturer's software, and in spite of applying my OCD to check for every possible driver/software update before each time I launch the Battle.net app. The effects usually disappear gradually within the first 10-60 minutes of in-world gameplay, and generally don't return until the next day even if I close the application or restart my PC. While the game is 'warming up' the issues seem to be lessened in smaller areas and areas with less matchmaking. For example i'll often find that the mouse responds well in Spider's Lair, but will go back to being infuriating when I return to the Tangled Shore overworld, or I'll start a Lost Sector or mission alone and find the mouse input more or less warmed up, but again will be disappointed when i return to public play. In light of this, it may come as no surprise that the Tower (traveller?) is a good test of how well my mouse will respond when I load into a game; it is incredibly rare nowadays for me to load into the tower <60 mins into my session and be able to look around smoothly or quickly. As I mentioned, i recall the issues beginning the week before Solstice of Heroes went live, when launching my game after the Solstice pre-load update, and i remember the issues being especially pronounced during Solstice of Heroes when on any quest step that caused elemental orbs to spawn, but they have persisted in some capacity ever since. Although i'm usually able to enjoy the game eventually, and I can often play around it at great cost to my effectiveness, I would play a LOT more Destiny if I could just get it to run as nice as it used to :'( If anybody has any ideas for troubleshooting this, please, i'm losing my mind every time i launch my favourite game and I've no idea what to try next (alternatively suggestions for a better place to seek support - seems like official policy is figure it out yourself?)
