Why has this community become so toxic?
What happened to the awesome community from D1, the guys that would help out and spend hours figuring out/ learning, or teaching raids? Helping lower light? Recognizing skill over light? Its so hard to do anything on this game anymore...super sad.

The moment the Destiny community joined and flooded this website with children who couldn't friggen use subforums and the like was the point where Toxicity from both long term users like myself and the newcomers began to hit it's peak. You wanna know why this Forum is so Toxic? It's because people can't stop complaining about customers of a company being dissatisfied with their product and talking about it in the general, bleak hope that maybe, just maybe, it might become the product they wished it could be from the beginning. Every time someone calls a reasonable argument, request or gripe "being entitled" I'm reminded of the times where people actually held companies to a level of standard expectations and took action when they failed to produce. Nowadays we have companies like Hello Games being praised for taking two years after launch to finally make the game they were touting as the best exploration game of all time the barest of bare "multiplayer space exploration." Jesus H Christ it's almost like people forgot that paying for something means that you're allowed to be dissatisfied and act with the intention of seeing it bettered.

Less the community and more of just the forums. It's just constant complaints now. The people who actually just play the game are much better.

1 ReplyThe community has always been toxic but there were more people willing to teach people back then because the raids were more enjoyable and u didnt have to rely on your whole team being alive the whole time you could still get threw most sections with 1 or 2 people dead

It's just this place that's toxic, plenty of great people. I carried a level 20 and a friend through whisper a few months ago. We were just gonna two man it and we saw the lvl 20 and wanted to see if he could come along... He's the most badass vanilla player now 😂

1 ReplyThe community is not toxic at all. Every lfg I join is always friendly and nice. The forums however, is just a place for the same 40-60 kids to meet daily to cry about something about the game and curse out anyone who says they are enjoying Destiny. There are good people on here too but the toxic ones outshine them all.

Bungie doesn't reward skill, the balancing is a joke, almost everything is arbitrary to gate you from playing the actual new content. I can see why they get toxic, Bungie made a bad game. It's literally everything we hated about D1 but worse.
