I understand the core economy can be tough on some but if they just removed them there would be a lot less to grind. Just try to infuse items of the same name until you hit max. Buy one or 2 from spider daily do the spider bounties use pure matter glass and wbenever you get an armor or weapon look at its current masterwork progression. I find armor with a toer 3 or above towards its masterwork usually drops a core.
