  • Slower rate of fire would be the only way I think. It kills you quicker than just about anything.

  • Changing the archetype means you have to add more impact and it’s still built for stability.

  • I don’t really care if the gun is nerfed I only use it when I vs other sweaty people. But when people cry for a nerf and have no real input on how to nerf it is pretty silly. The only way to nerf this gun would be to remove magnificent Howl and with that perk removed there would be no point in having the gun. The way I see it there’s no nerf coming to this weapon, if there was bungie would’ve addressed it and done it already.

  • I’d say reduce fire rate. It’s just too quick to kill. Redrix isn’t very good until you activate the perk. Luna’s is great at ALL times.

  • Redrix is bad now because of the weapons we can use now. A lot of weapons have a faster TTK than redrix. But again nerfing the rate of fire won’t do anything because 150-140-110 archetypes can still 3 tap to the dome. Also like I said they’d have to rework the gun to fit inside those archetypes also making it stronger in long range engagements. Magnificent Howl is what makes this gun powerful because it’s a 180 handcannon with 110 handcannon damage (2head1body). Unless they nerf this perk like they did final round on snipers (only headshots do more damage) that would make the gun require more skill. If this happened I could see the balance shifting to everyone using telesto then you would see nerf telesto post everyday, there’s barely any of that and that gun requires no skill and outguns Luna’s Howl wether it be a trade or straight up win.

  • Well they need to do something. It’s basically THE gun to use and is pretty much unbeatable by a decent player against any other general primary. Would increasing the number of head shots required work?

  • I don’t know man... increasing the amount of headshots for the perk to work would just make it any other handcannon and would be outclassed by trust (because of random rolls). Another route they could take would be to nerf all handcannons (because with bungie it’s all or nothing), I don’t think that’ll go too well with the community since the last word will be making a return in January. But I think you just have to suck it up. Like I said I rarely use my Luna I use Fighting Lion and Smugglers Word pretty much exclusively and I can still get 30-40 opponents def. It comes down to how you choose your engagements, the sound Luna makes is pretty distinguishable and when I encounter it I don’t straight up fight it because that’s how you lose. There’s other guns that can beat it at medium-long range, the gun is pretty much useless too if you’re jumping above the person so they don’t get headshots. The gun becomes any other gun if you don’t land two rapid headshots. You can make it tougher for the opponent to get headshots by using explosive payload (screen shake), during combat crouch while they’re firing (messes some people up), use cover to your advantage (the perk only last 3 seconds so waiting for your health to regen makes them have to reproc their health), if they’re aggressive you can usually get a shotgun trade if you’re a shotgun user, snipers have a high skill ceiling but are worth practicing with because if you can land those crispy snapshots it’ll piss Luna users off, and like I said telesto is a good counter.

  • It can definitely kill you quicker than you can charge some fusion rifles if they’re good with it. Up to medium range I’ve found it’ll still 3 tap you. It is definitely a weapon that rewards skill (head shots) but it is also a very forgiving gun being a 180 HC. I honestly don’t think a pinnacle weapon like that was a good idea to begin with. Bungie has a sexual love for over powered hand cannons for some reason. I don’t really want to have to constantly run away and engage from long range because they’ve put this gun in the game. Maybe it should have been locked to only being used in Comp. Would like to see Redrix get a buff.

  • I should take my comment back about redrix being bad. It’s a good weapon if you actually practice to use it because if you land all head shots it can actually two burst people and since it was added to the loot pool you have a chance to get ricochet rounds arrowhead break and a range masterwork. People just don’t like this weapon because it requires you to play defensive/aggressive. It’s a rewarding gun but not very many people can use it defensively and aggressively. I suggest you put your focus in on mastering that weapon if you aren’t gonna obtain Luna’s Howl, because redrix is also pretty decent at mob clears once you got the desperado proc’d. You’re gripe with handcannons is honestly pretty annoying considering how badly they were nerfed in D1 after being “too powerful” the crucible is in a good state. You just need to learn how to adapt.

  • Considering how reliable a gun like Bygones or Go Figure is, it just doesn’t seem worth the hassle using Redrix. The way to have to work it in a crucible match just isn’t worth it when you can play a more ‘relaxed’ style with other Pulses. I have no problem with a hand cannon like Duke 44. Powerful, 3 shot to the head, high recoil and slower fire rate so requires skill. Even Trust or Malfeasance don’t wreck like Luna’s. Luna’s is just too far and above pretty much all other primaries. Especially when you consider the majority of firefights in crucible (based on my experience) is close to medium range because of the maps. I just think Luna’s/NF was a mistake to put in the game.

  • Duke is 2 headshots and 1 body for a kill and it’s also easy to use, has the highest stability out of all the 110’s. Also if you get rapid hit there’s literally no recoil on this gun. Also you’re lack of crucible knowledge is showing Luna’s Howl doesn’t kill supers as fast as malfeasance. Malfeasance also has zero recoil (bloom) so follow up shots are a breeze and trust is much more reliable at medium to long range you know why? RANDOM ROLLS. This gun can have explosive payload, extended barrel, steady rounds. The vendor roll is still good even with garbage genesis on it. It’s like talking in circles with you. You have no knowledge on the situation. I’m done. [spoiler]muted[/spoiler]
