I very much agree with you here. ther is also a significant gap between casual and hardcore players and the expectations of each. So many complaining about Black armoury at 550 who can't enter the forge at 610, 615 or 590 because they are not at end game but, expect to play new stuff simply because they bought it.. the expectations were wrong and bungie was very clear about what was coming, end game content and not campaign or story. While nobody likes to be told what to play and how, bungie setting a 200 gap and a big grind was part of the issue. I as a hardcore player loved it, casuals have a longer uphil climb that takes longer to reach endgame and many arn't there yet so feel slighted. The psychology and explanation is, play more, get your light up and enjoy the end game content,

 • Your blaming people for expecting what Bungie and every other dlc in existence has delivered previously....content you could jump into. They did clarify what it would entail but quite late in the day. Obviously that makes sense because if they came out months back and said its end gae ONLY and u need to grind for a few weeks for most to take part/compete it...then sales would have fallen off a cliff. Remember, the base game and all dlcs (3) excluding back armoury are available for £35, as it is. Like they need sales plummeting any more lol Said truth is Bungie built game that promised discovery and plenty to do, but they can no longer churn out the content to match expectation. Bungie have 1000 devs and outside help and they are still struggling to make content heavy expansions. Its like Bungie have the best sports car on the scene but they have no idea how to drive it or even fill it up with petrol lol

 • I'm not sure but maybe Bungie *became* very clear about what to expect with Black Amory. When I paid for it (way back when) I don't recall having a clear idea of what it was about and I try to read/watch everything pertaining to this game. Very briefly Bungie had compared the forge activity to Escalation Protocol and they probably said that players will have to power up just like they did for that. But obviously 98% of players did not receive the message. It's like they wanted an *expansion* when Black Amory was not that. Bungie should have just said, "Hey, this first Annual Pass installment is just about guns. We're giving you a new vendor with new mods and this vendor will also sell Mod Components (finally) and this forge thing brings a bunch of cool-looking weapons so that you can (hopefully) make your character(s) feel more powerful and, finally, we've sprinkled around the forge some secrets which lead to some pretty amazing surprises. Oh, a new raid, as well." THE END.

 • I'm with you, but tbf YOU chose to buy it without any info. That's a risk on your part.

 • Wait the new npc has components? Well this is cool and all but it baffles me that you need the pass to purchase components when you need them for banshee mods.

 • same with cores mate. If you dont have all the dlcs you have massively inferior grind tbh. The days of infusing weapons to see what worked best are long gone. Cores for infusion being scrapped would have 0 effect on the game. It didnt in year 1 or D1. You still need cores to masterwork your favourite weapons. Now you grind through the game to get to the Forsaken dlc, and ur lucky to use 5% of the weapons and gear u get....its madness. The old supers are basically toilet, ignoring hammers.... totally pointless. What does Bungie do? Makes the quality of life changes appear in dlcs u have to pay for lol

 • Still cheaper using the original mod farming method and costs no shards

 • Yeah, I think it's like 25 gunsmith material + 3 legendary shards. But you're right. Also, that aspect of Ada-1's inventory does not become available until AFTER you complete the forge in the EDZ. She also has special weapon mods that you can purchase once you collect stuff for her (or something since I haven't actually done the forge yet... but I'm 613, just waiting for a buddy to catch up). They really should have added the sale of Mod Components to Banshee, exclusively. Or hell, let Xur sell the damn things along with Cores, right? /=

 • I've cleared the forge.....one thing that bothers me is it seems the mods are entirely random. So, after grinding her bounties AND the forge, you might get something awful lol I want my rampage/dragonfly mod first!!!

 • Yeah, no kidding!! Finally got the first forge done and I'm satisfied with how the rewards are being dished out--got really good roles, even. Gets pretty grindy when you try to get all of Ada's stuff done, which is okay. But those mods, though.... wow.... it's Bungie messing with your head, again. Making you keep playing and remain invested *in the hopes* of getting the mod you want. I think they'll eventually change that part of it. A couple weeks in when enough people become annoyed enough.

 • Right. This is a quality of life fix thats well needed for all players but requiring the pass is just dumb.

 • What they did say is that the dlc were going to be end game content. but, I suppose it wasn't as clear and spelled out as it has to be for people, and when it was, they didn't find it and made their own assumptions of what it would be..

 • The problem is probably that the first forge was basically inaccessible unless you grind out all the weekly shit first and then got to 610 at the least. But at the same time they throttled your gains from powerful gear until then so you have an extremely slow light gain for doing the weekly shit and then you have the new activity that much higher. Honestly, the 5 light drop that they patched in server side was helpful, but not enough for those who can't get a full fireteam at 610. It would've been more helpful to just increase the time by only 30 seconds and then you have enough time to get through each wave if you can still deal damage by the last wave without being 610. It also would've been more helpful to relay what they meant by endgame, because when they stated it, at the launch of forsaken, everyone thought it would be like the raid and EP, where you get to enter it at any light somewhat close to max and you can actually deal damage and survive without being one-shot. Their silence on the matter made this turn out much worse for them in the end.

Some people are defending Bungie.. others are asking Bungie to go back to it's roots.

 • Maybe, but they could've just said anything to give us the right mindset for it. Endgame content could literally mean anything. Dreaming City was described as endgame, and so was EP when they released Warmind. The Nightfall is also described as endgame content. There's a spectrum they all fall under and it deserved more clarity than just endgame content.
