Because BRs are an over-hyped trash fad that steal dev attention from the important places for the promise of easy money.
I hope to never see a Destiny BR, ever.
My entire post is based on the idea that I think Bungie can take advantage of the hype of the BR fad and do it better than anyone else.
As it stands I fail to see how it would “take dev attention away from what matters”. It could bring in enough money to have its own team of designers working on it and more revenue for the studio means better raids, story, locations, everything. Also it would get Activision off Bungie’s back and maybe let them make the product they want without as much focus on cosmetics and micro transactions
As it stands it looks like the only thing that’s important is making money (because of Activision). And even without a BR we saw them lose track of the soul of the game with Vanilla D2 so I fail to see how a BR would affect that
The money is the important part to Activision. Bungie has stated their commitment is still to provide a quality product. They cannot detract from that or Destiny will fall.
You understand that nearly half the player base left after the Warmind expansion? They already lose sight of what the game should have been. Why not do something more that could bring old players back and new players in?
