Our Game Security Team issues an escalating series of enforcement actions twenty four hours per day, and we also issue some enforcement actions in big waves. We don't announce our enforcement actions because it gives cheaters information on how our detection works.
Since November 1st, we’ve issued enforcement actions to 1,120 players for violating our terms of service, including cheat programs, network manipulation, and DDoS. Our Game Security Team is always updating our monitoring tools to detect ever-changing attacks, and a human verifies every punishment before it is issued.
As always, if you believe to have encountered someone cheating, please use this contact form to report suspects accordingly.

Who are you arguing with? All I see is just one long string of your comments.

Edited by senpai franky: 11/11/2018 5:57:46 PMGod, but it was a long string. Who knows, you probably muted the guy. Lord knows I wouldn't blame you ;) Maybe he deleted his account or some shit? I dont feel like checking lol
-
Oh yeah I think I did, I muted him for the same thing you were arguing with him for.
-
LOL

Enforcement actions is not ban hammer though. Could of been a crappy 24hr restriction to crucible which wouldn't matter as they have achieved what they wanted
-
Ever wonder why your player base doesn’t believe you? In part it’s because “good will” is a finite resource, which at one point, could’ve been bolstered by honesty, transparency and clarity. Instead, you did things ‘your way’, and squandered it all. Well, not all... I’d say you’re down to “.04%”.

No need to thank me guys, just doing my duty as a forum user to pass on truth and facts.

Edited by SpamTheDamage: 11/10/2018 11:46:53 PMGlad to hear. Communication about these sorts of things are important, especially when cheating/recoveries are such a hot topic right now. While I do believe that there are a good number of people “crying wolf” when it comes to pointing fingers at people who they think are cheating, making posts like these goes a long way to show that you are taking action on such a hot button issue. Thanks for the reply, and for keeping an eye out and making Destiny a good place to play. Bungie has gained some respect since Forsaken, and it’s important to keep that ball rolling and redevelop good faith.

Yeah when/ if I report someone I always wonder if anything ever happens about it.... also I am asking if you can stop the p2p connection in destiny 3 to eliminate lag etc plz!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Yeah you guys are doing a bang up job so far nearly 3 months after forsaken and you have one of the worst cheating problems in gaming at the moment The only thing you guys have said is 30 minute bans that’s all I could literally find It’s pathetic and anything you do now is too little too late Frankly Activision can’t stop in fast enough at least they will get it done
-
nice!
-
We appreciate the work dmg. Keep it up
-
Allow name and shame so everyone can block them.
-
And auto-report their GamerTags/PSN/battle.net accounts to their respective online services to cross-ban.
-
-
Start worrying about crucible match making. Connection based is the wrong answer. Ok now, get to work. We’re all very tired of this.
-
Dont bother humoring these people, dmg04. They think everyone who outplays them must be a cheater. Everytime they've been disconnected from a match is a dos attack. They wont be happy til you can matchmake them into a guaranteed win for every match.
-
I just think he misspoke and all of those bans were from forum name and shaming
-
But there is a lot of network manipulation going on, aka cheating. There have been posts in this very forum from cheaters who blamed bungie because it is a collections game.
-
Ok, now let's talk about recoveries. A "recovery" is when you pay someone else to play the game on your account. I've been told by Sony: this is a violation of the terms and service for the Playstation Network. The D2 official companion app has MANY posts everyday for people advertising their recovery service.
Edited by Lyrro: 11/10/2018 7:08:51 PMIf this were true, why do so many cheaters go months or years with no bans despite all the reports. Forgive me if I'm skeptical, but since Bungie now has roughly the same credibility as EA and Activision, I can't take your word as anything more than pr bull at this point. I also have to ask, since it was the first thing that came to mind when I read "for violating our terms of service", how many of those bans were forum users instead of actual players? What are "enforcement actions"? A stern "no" and a finger shake is an enforcement action, albeit a very ineffective one. Are you actually banning cheaters, are they getting temporary bans, or are you just giving a stern "no" and shaking your finger at them?
-
Yeah, I'd want to know who got banned and why, what proof as well. That way falsely accused/punished people can defend themselves. In D1 I got a week-long ban from Crucible for allegedly having a bad connection, even though it was clearly an issue with being matched with people on the other side of the world due to SBMM. Strange how I never have network issues or latency when I play Hardcore Team Deathmatch on.CoD, or Halo: Reach, or Battlefield 1, etc. While I am all for actual cheaters in PvP getting banned, I don't exactly trust Bungie's ability to figure out who is cheating and whose connection is being messed around with by said cheaters.
-
Bungie says it won’t give out info on who/why because they want their methods to go undetected. Why wouldn’t you publicly state at least why? “We banned 500 for ddosing” would probably make a ddoser more weary about doing it. Not only does bungie take a soft approach to cheating, they take an even softer approach to preventing it.
-
I bet you don’t even know who you are banning. Some may be innocent but you decide to not provide proof why they are banned. So many people are still ddossing and hacking and yet you ban the ones that accidentally had a team leave for them three times in a row making them a ddoser. Every game out there has a judgement system, even runescape let’s you know what you did wrong and how long you see banned for. If a content creator were to get banned they would get unbanned right now. I heard lucky and buttwipe had 11 consecutive teams leave and they got 11 comp wins but just because they tweeted on twitter makes them not guilty. You better make sure those 1200 people you “suspended” were actually affecting the game. It’s just ridiculous how my friend is already banned for 2 months and he has the lowest kda in the game. I have no idea how someone could be hacking. Company is just full of stupid people who don’t test the game before releasing

Whats the point of in game report function if it seems to never be used for data and we also have to open up the app/go to the website to file a second, longer report. Secondly, I've seen people that I and friends have all reported on multiple occasions who is clearly manipulating connection, (while they win connection is perfect, soon as they lose the edge they suddenly never miss and take no damage), still run around crucible as nothing seemed to be done. What are these actions? Warnings? 10 min suspension? As it is theres no reason to report as it always feels like nothing gets done about it.
