I am probably in the minority, but I actually enjoy Gambit.
Yeah, some rounds can be very frustrating, but overall I enjoy it.
I have seen the same things others have mentioned. Hell, I have even done some of the things mentioned. Luckily I learned from my mistakes and try to do better the next time.
Some of my pet peeves....
#1 - if you hear the drifter say you have enough motes to pull a primeval PLEASE stop what you are doing to head to the bank. You might be the one with 10+ motes that can put us over. No need to go for the Ogre. Bank and let's roll.
#2 - blockers... If you see a blocker is at the bank stop and kill it please. Do not get it in your head that you will go collect motes and come back and kill it before you bank. Too often I see this and what happens is either you die before you can bank or you get invaded and those 15 motes you worked to collect are lost as you take a sleeper shot. Keep the bank clear always as best you can.
#3 - Holding motes. Do you see the progression bar at the top. See the little gray/white sub bar. That is how many POTENTIAL motes your team holds that hasnt banked yet. See how you can see the opposing teams bar and they can see yours? Well some teams use that as a strategy. If they see you have a lot of potential motes they will bank theirs to block your bank and then they will invade in the hopes to kill enough that are holding motes and slow down your progress. It amazes me how many people don't realize this mechanic yet.
#4 - Type of blockers - this can be debated, but in my experience the phalanx and knight are the best blockers to use. The ogre is okay, but he is also a big target and slow. You could put 3 phalanx in place of one ogre. Go for the low and mid blockers. They get the job done. (yeah yeah you have your bounties, that's fine.)
#5 - Invaders. If you are being invaded (not during the primeval phase) and you have 0 motes on you. GO HUNTING and try to kill that sob. "but I suck as pvp!" So, what! So do I, so do a lot of people. You have almost NOTHING to lose by going after them. If nothing else you might clue the rest of the team into where they are.
If it's DURING a primeval phase stop hitting the primeval and look for the invader. Again, even if you suck at pvp if you see them coming take a shot at them. You might not get them but maybe you weaken their shield enough for the next guy to take them out. Point is, just try. Also please stop hiding the in the spawn area. They know this. They count on this. Easy 4 kills with super and heavy.
#6 - Invading! - Please do not invade unless you have heavy ammo and your super. The point is to get as many kills as possible. Yes you have an overshield and wall hack, but why not make absolutely sure to stack the deck in your favor as much as possible.
#7 (last one) - mobs - some mobs are more troublesome than others. Shriekers and scorch tanks for me are the worst. They will melt you in a second if you give them a chance. Take out these troublesome mobs from a distance then close in for the main kills.
Hope this helps a little bit!

the opposing team put in 3 small blockers at once. and these small blockers raised their shield when they saw me and proceeded to launch me across the entire map. I HATE small blockers. they're the most annoying to deal with.

All these tips I wish more people knew about. Especially about being mindful of the gray bar. Also, I'd say the only time the ogre is maybe considered the worst is if it's kell's grave, due to the pits. Still not best to go out of the way for 15 motes though.

Solid advice all round, although a little addendum to 6 - sometimes, when invading, you are better off stalling for time. For example: If you can prevent the enemy team from killing their envoys for 30 seconds, thats 30 seconds during which they likely cant/wont burn their Primeval. Thats 30 seconds for your team to catch up. If you can teamwipe towards the end of the invasion, even better.

I agree with all that. Ty, kind sir.

Well done!

I liked everything accept giving advice to being invaded. I just got my bounty to drop from the Meatball and will need 4 kills at some point. After I get the gun, you can repost this! ;)

Titan - Hammers - FTW. the problem now is that people are figuring out NOT to stand next to each other and spread out across the map. but it certainly is doable - I did it on my first attempt (which is completely out of character for me), a clan mate the truly NEVER invades, got his on his first attempt as well. which was like insane (I was not there when it happened but heard about it after the fact).

lol ;p

#5 - excellent advise.

On your point with number 6, I invade all the time with just a Polaris Lance(no super or heavy) and come out with 2-3 kills minimum.
-
Fair point. Not saying you can't or shouldn't. If you are a pvp whiz go for it. For the majority they aren't. All I am suggesting is to maximize their potential with heavy and supers at hand. That's one thing I like about Gambit. It has many roles to play and each person can find their niche. One game had a guy that banked maybe 4 motes. Wondering what he was doing. New to the game, afk, etc? Then when we and the opposing team pulled our primevals he went to work invading. One of the 1st times I had seen a teammate get all 4 kills in one invasion. So, we let him invade all he wanted and we focused on the mobs and blockers.

Me: *has 14 motes because my teamates took the last one Enemy invaders: allow us to introduce ourselves
-
Lol, yeah I forgot about that one. Many times I need 1 mote for the next level (4, 9, 14), and even though I am killing left and right the others are snatching up the motes before I can grab just 1 more...lol I try to not to complain or get bitter over this telling myself that ALL motes help the team, but damn it if isn't frustrating to see the guy in front of you grab a mote and then die and the log shows he dropped 13 motes. Grr....

Yup , this

That's exactly how I feel about it. It's not perfect, but it really has some fun moments. I absolutely hate being blown across the screen, so I try and run in circles when attacking these bitches. lol.
#5 - Invaders. If you are being invaded (not during the primeval phase) and you have 0 motes on you. GO HUNTING and try to kill that sob.
That's me every time. I drop what I'm doing and go Invader hunting. I'll assume he's got a killer weapon, so I carefully move to flank him as quickly as I can. I'll move away from the other players to make myself less enticing. Or, hope he'll come after me and I can dodge and keep him occupied. This is actually one of the best parts of Gambit for me. A real challenge when the Invader knows what he's doing.
