I was watching Friday the 13th when I had a strange thought
Jason Voorheese is the most extreme and effective form of protected sex.

The first slasher horrors that became popular were in the 70s. The majority audience were teenagers. Friday the 13th subconsciously tapped into the adolescent anxiety over sex. Obviously it worked. The movie was a big hit.
