The decline has set in. Been struggling all day to find games in banner + gambit, so just checked destiny tracker daily logins, n it's down to 800k PvP (from 1.8m) and 1.3m PvE (from 2.2).
Fair to say Black Ops has taken a huge chunk, as will Red Dead , battlefield 5, n Fallout 76, and after Xmas Anthem. Destiny will always have a decent playerbase, but it's certainly not got the draw it once had n the ones left are the loyal diehards with max triumph scores, the guys like me who just suck at other games, and there's a huge chunk of free to play guys on PS4, go patrol, they're EVERYWHERE.

Down to 800k from 1.8m. In what period of time? Just curious.

Pretty recently, like the last 2 weeks, maybe less. I often check daily logins, since 2014. Obviously there's falloff from people hitting 600 n getting bored etc. But I've really felt mm is struggling the last few days so I looked today after maybe a week or so without doing so, n was actually surprised given iron banner, FotL n all the power drops available. It's a blatant push btw to get players near 600 bcoz the dlc in Dec gives us a bump to 700. Clearly most players are still low-mid 550 n if the new content is 700+ they have an issue is selling something people can't play.
