Thundercrash Damage

Is it me or does Thundercrash feel very underpowered for it being able to deal "meteoric" damage? Especially when compared to damage from hot, oven temperature knives from Blade Barrage. The impact from Thundercrash feels more impactful (screen shake, pounding sound effects, etc) than the actual damage from the super. Sounds buggy in that regard.. Anyone think Thundercrash needs a buff?

  • Haven't played it so I can't pretend to know but I can say for a fact that it's fine in PvP. I'll be 20 yards from your impact zone and die

  • The main damage aoe needs to be at least a third bigger and a quarter more damage. In PvE you slam into a big baddie and take a chunk of his health or kill him but all the adds around him are still alive and eat you up. The aerial movement is sluggish to turn and I’ve seen a good few players jump out of the way. I don’t think a movement buff would help, it’d make controlling it harder so you gotta buff the aoe radius and damage.

    • Nah, they wont do any shit with this. Nobody cares that throwing yourself into a boss is a lot more risky than throwing 2 separated waves of nuclear knives of doom from another continent

    • I too agree with buffing damage. It really feels underwhelming in terms of dmg. However with Synthoceps and landing near 3 enemies one of which was a boss i managed to get 60k dmg on him. The problem is if i need synthoceps to make it deal good damage then im missing out on the synergy i get from Insurmountable Skullfort + Ballistic Slam. The Skullfort is undoubtly the best in slot exotic for this since ballistic slam helps you build up your Super meter faster. By using Synthoceps i do buff the damage by 50% ( which means that Thundercrash does around 30k ish dmg normally which is meh ) but thats hardly worth it cause of the skullfort synergy. The rest of the tree imo is great, hyper-aggressive with inertia override, you are meant to be always in motion. I see alot of players who just stand and shoot. If thats how you play then the new striker is not for you.

      I think the Thundercrash itself it fine. It's like a guided cruise missile going in for the kill. It's a great counter to a enemy zone cap. launch from a distance, fly in, and wipe multiple targets. What i think needs work is Ballistic Slam. It's so damn clunky. You have to run, jump, then slam. It's failed to trigger multiple times even in pve use. Are there any other powered melee attacks in this game that require two prerequisite steps to activate? If they take out the sprinting requirement I think that improve it's usability a lot. Jump, slam. The inertia slide ability, has no synergy with the rest of the bundle. It feels like filler honestly.

      • The Ballistic slam melee needs to be changed so that if it doesn’t make contact with an enemy it’s refunded the same way shoulder charge is.

        • I am now maining a blade barrage hunter and my brother is a thundercrash titan. BB is way more powerful maybe, but thundercrash in combination with the insurmountable skullfort can get its super three times(!) faster than I do. So I think its pretty balanced though.

          • They should add some more depth to the supers in that it increases the difficulty of using them but the trade off is increased effectiveness. In this case an example would be locking in your flight path. You wouldn't be able to do anything obviously but you get more out of the super for doing it.

          • Stop comparing to hunter supers for damage refference. PvE roles. Hunters are the DPS /crowd controll class. Titans are buffs /debuff /damage. Warlocks are crowd controll/buffs.

                  • Just unlocked thundercrash from visiting Mara SOC a couple days ago Super fun! Especially when you combo the ballistic slam and the thundercrash off a ledge to go at least 2x as far as the super by itself But I feel the damage in pve is underwhelming. I'd love to see a comparison of thundercrash and blade barrage, pretty sure blade barrage does a lot more damage

                    • Well I think the sounds are a little weird as well. Ballistic Slam has the shoulder charge and Fist of Havoc sound, while Thundercrash sounds like... I don't even know. Some crackling? Feels underwhelming. In terms of damage, I think Thundercrash is fine. My main "complaints" are the sounds and the slow flight in Thundercrash honestly feels weird.

                      I dont. Its a great super and absolutelly fun to use in pvp. Inertia overide is also a great addition. The melle is a bit wonky but other than that ii is a solid subclass

                    • I never judge its damage output because I think its the most entertaining super in the game. Killed the raid lair hydra with it once. Hilarious. But yeah it could use a buff against bosses and such.
