Competitive leaving penalty rework when?

So I've been grinding out Luna's on PC for the last few weeks, currently on last step. Been doing it mostly solo/duo, have a 1.2 K/D and 1750 glory. It would be easily achievable if it weren't for one issue. Bungie servers & competitive leaving punishments. So as it stands right now, leaving, getting an error code, PC/Game crash, power going out, literally anything that kicks your from a match for any reason is the same thing according to the servers. One of the people I duo with has a bad CPU cooler which causes his pc to overheat & hard lock getting him kicked every 8 or 9 games, causing him to lose his win streak if he has one along with 30 glory. This poses an issue to those who either can't run the game well or have PC issues like said friend. If bungie is really going along with what they said about the raid & how there will be no prestige mode in order to make rewards more accessible, there wouldn't be a glory penalty for being error coded. Not only this, but whenever my friend logs back in to destiny & selects the character he was playing on, he loads into the match but is immediately met with an error code yet again upon spawning in, making the relog system pretty much pointless, as he has not had a successful relog once. An easy way to fix this would be to allow a remake/allow a team to safely leave the match if someone leaves or gets error coded. Punishing rage quitters is a great thing, don't get me wrong, but the team of said rage quitter shouldn't be punished with imminent loss because they're down a man. This system makes zero sense to me. If bungie could introduce some competitive reform & make the playlist less stressful and tilting by allowing teams to leave safely if someone lags out, I'm sure the community & culture of competitive play in this game would be much less toxic & a bit more lighthearted. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

  • Why doesn’t your ‘friend’ use some common sense and take a little break every 5 or 6 games?

  • I’d also like to know why in a competitive mode, are sub level 50 players allowed to play? Iv been matched with level 20s with blue armour and weapons. Wtf

Most about competitive needs a rework tbh. The matchmaking, leaving penalty, heavy economy, remove -blam!-ing clash and survival. #-blam!-Vostok #-blam!-LegionsGulch

You may not find it fair because it's not on purpose but the suspension is warranted if you are repeatedly creating a negative experience for other players.

      • They can’t allow people to not get punished for lagging out or disconnecting, because then you could get out of any game consequence free by abusing that system. It just can’t happen, you friend should fix his PC, or accept that he’s being punished for ruining other people’s games.

        • It’s meant to stop people from continually disrupting games. Unfortunately, your boy is doing just that. Just because he isn’t rage quitting doesn’t mean his poor system isn’t ruining games. Get a better system. That is not Bungie’s fault.

        • How do you think Bungie (or anyone) could detect if you or your friend erroring out is intentional or not? Only thing they could realistically detect is if you leave the game using in game controls. But if someone did combat logging because opponents were too hard etc., he would obviously do something else to disconnect. If anything, the punishments for leaving matches should be much harsher. Though, obviously this game needs servers, like since day one. Too easy for dishonest ppl to disrupt/attack opponents.
