There was a time on this forum when I would bitch and moan and complain about everything. I would call people and Bungie names how shit their game is (while playing it of course) and just an overall negative attitude. Then ONE day, I finally said, “nobody cares”, nobody gives a shit if I like or hate this game.
Then I started replying mostly (not posting) to post with a more mature, calm response, pointing out negative lbs when something really is shitty but also pointing out the positives. I stopped worrying about what weapons other people have, I stopped worrying about what exotics OTHER people have, I stopped playing crucible (except for milestones) and now I don’t care what is done in crucible or what state it is in because it’s not a game mode that I personally play.
I was 41 when I started playing destiny and I’m 45 now, but the game is so much more enjoyable when you STOP worrying about other people and what they have and what exotics they got, who completed the raid first, people who glitched/farmed Prime Engrams etc...
Worry about you and only you and this game is so much fun. You’ll get what you want eventually, just because it isn’t right this minute doesn’t mean the game isn’t fun without it. I use ALL legendary weapons and armor except for Sleeper. Such a boss killer. When you play the game for you it’s a lot more fun, at least for me. I’ll raid when I 580 and above, so I’m not concerned with raiding right this second. I’ve been a solo for most of the 4 years playing this game I have NEVER had a hard time finding a raid group for my first. I’m a very good raid player and I listen and I learn from my mistakes so I don’t get kicked for being a shitty player who claims to know everything but knows nothing. Mouth shut ears open.
I complete all dreaming city stuff first then the nightfall then I work my way on down the line of milestones. Play this game for fun and stop worrying about other people. Focus on you. And when you stop complaining and being toxic you’ll see this game in a different light, I did.

You'll revert back to toxicity at some point during your Destiny journey, a leopard and spots.....
