There was a time on this forum when I would bitch and moan and complain about everything. I would call people and Bungie names how shit their game is (while playing it of course) and just an overall negative attitude. Then ONE day, I finally said, “nobody cares”, nobody gives a shit if I like or hate this game.
Then I started replying mostly (not posting) to post with a more mature, calm response, pointing out negative lbs when something really is shitty but also pointing out the positives. I stopped worrying about what weapons other people have, I stopped worrying about what exotics OTHER people have, I stopped playing crucible (except for milestones) and now I don’t care what is done in crucible or what state it is in because it’s not a game mode that I personally play.
I was 41 when I started playing destiny and I’m 45 now, but the game is so much more enjoyable when you STOP worrying about other people and what they have and what exotics they got, who completed the raid first, people who glitched/farmed Prime Engrams etc...
Worry about you and only you and this game is so much fun. You’ll get what you want eventually, just because it isn’t right this minute doesn’t mean the game isn’t fun without it. I use ALL legendary weapons and armor except for Sleeper. Such a boss killer. When you play the game for you it’s a lot more fun, at least for me. I’ll raid when I 580 and above, so I’m not concerned with raiding right this second. I’ve been a solo for most of the 4 years playing this game I have NEVER had a hard time finding a raid group for my first. I’m a very good raid player and I listen and I learn from my mistakes so I don’t get kicked for being a shitty player who claims to know everything but knows nothing. Mouth shut ears open.
I complete all dreaming city stuff first then the nightfall then I work my way on down the line of milestones. Play this game for fun and stop worrying about other people. Focus on you. And when you stop complaining and being toxic you’ll see this game in a different light, I did.

Edited by IRaidWithAussies: 10/18/2018 10:52:08 AMThe feedback forum is for feedback. If your old ass doesn't agree with it Guess what? It's still feedback. Your opinion doesn't weigh more than THOUSANDS of others Why is this concept so hard for people above 40??
-
Yes, but which is better? 1: Ass or 2:Titties
-
Tldr. OP lowered his expectations and is no longer disappointed
-
But it sounds like the stuff you were complaining about were legitimate problems, bug exploitation for instance. And you've stopped playing the PVP, which is the most broken and horrible mode right now. I mean, complaining isn't toxic. Complaining is how you get things fixed. And tons of stuff is broken, and this game is going downhill very quickly. We're not going to fix the problems with this game by sitting back and shutting up.
-
Wrong, wrong, wrong. With your title "I used to be toxic" the only appropriate body of text should have been "untill i took a arrow in the knee" 😜
-
It works for a while I suppose, but it fades...the disappointments will build and build whilst you try to endure the inane decisions made on this game... but it'll fall apart soon enough.
-
This advice can also just be applied to life in general.

Lol you really think imma read this essay

My 6-year old daughter keeps my toxicity in check. Anytime I want to start spewing a bunch of f-bombs, I realize she is sitting right next to me intently watching just how fun Destiny2 is to play. Then I quickly mellow out and ask her to open all accumulated engrams -- her RNG skills are way better than mine, especially at Eververse.

Lethalviper, is that you?

Conversion, software version 7.0 Looking at life through the eyes of a tired hub Eating seeds as a pastime activity The toxicity of our city, our city You, what do you own the world? How do you own disorder, disorder Now somewhere between the sacred silence Sacred silence and sleep Somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep Disorder, disorder, disorder More wood for the fires, loud neighbors Flashlight reveries caught in the headlights of a truck Eating seeds as a pastime activity The toxicity of our city, of our city Now, what do you own the world? How do you own disorder, disorder Now somewhere between the sacred silence Sacred silence and sleep Somewhere between the sacred silence and sleep Disorder, disorder, disorder Now, what do you own the world? How do you own disorder, disorder Now somewhere between the sacred silence Sacred silence and sleep Somewhere, between the sacred silence and sleep Disorder, disorder, disorder When I became the sun I shone life into the man's hearts When I became the sun I shone life into the man's hearts

Edited by Cinderchar: 10/17/2018 6:11:12 PMI think it's a tall order expecting people to play a game rooted in vanity to not act vain.

I been tellin' folk!

Oh Bungie really cares that 80% of its playerbase hates the game. However bungie doesn’t care whatsoever about whiners who preorder everything.
Worry about you and only you and this game is so much fun. You’ll get what you want eventually, just because it isn’t right this minute doesn’t mean the game isn’t fun without it.
This. Whether you realize it or not, you've kind of stumbled onto the key to life itself. Everyone is dealt a different hand, and though we'd like to believe we are all created equal that simply isn't true. You have to learn how to best play your own hand. Comparing yourself to others (except as perhaps a means to find inspiration) whether it be in your life's pursuits or in a game like Destiny is often a fruitless endeavour that will bring no progress or satisfaction. If people worried half as much about what they can do to improve their own station in life vs. how unfair their situation is compared to others, we'd be a significantly more productive and fulfilled society of individuals.

I used to be an Adventurer like you. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

That's my secret Cap, I'm always salty....

I blame the instant gratification mindset... And Edge Transit

No one cared then and no one cares now.

Indeed if people applied those thoughts to life in general they would be much happier.

Excellent post. Congrats on your newfound maturity! Many, many people posting here would do well to take a page out of your book. It's never easy to admit that you have been wrong, but it feels good when you do, and leverage it to better yourself. Good for you and thank you for sharing!

Same here. Except I kinda mix it in with a little trolling now and again. Somehow it feels a little better than an insulting rant. Why not right...? Bungie trolls us a little... Anywhoo. Not time to chat. Grinding right now for Edge Transit. Fingers crossed!
