It's more of avoidance of confrontation. You put on a mask because you don't want to bother anyone, and you also fear social self rejection. This is evident amongst family members and loved ones you feel might not understand. You fear their response no matter what it be. You want everything to be okay, so you hide it.

  • I mean thats just one side of it. Not everyone who has depression is helpless. Hell no one is truly helpless unless they are giving up. People need to find the things in their life that are poisoning them and try to change their life to be more satisfying.

  • That's the thing. It isn't really a poison. It's like being offered your favorite food to eat, but the problem isn't that it the food will give you food poisoning or that you've grown sick of it. The problem is that the food you once loved you can't taste anymore. Sure, you can try to change up the recipe or the food, but the problem remains. You can't taste.

  • Well my point is in that situation people are responsible for their own health. If he noticed a change like this he should realise that something isn't right. Depression is a chemical inbalance alongside a psychological issue. And most people don't need pills they need change. People become unhappy in their current environment
