Getting help isn't as simple as your comments would make it seem. Depression is literally a chemical imbalance in the brain. It's not something easy to fight, and some people don't even realize they're depressed. Sometimes it could take a simple jog to do it, sometimes it could take years and years of counseling. Some people can't even get out of bed from it, some people seem just fine in public with it. It affects everyone in a different way and there's no singular answer for it. But telling others to get over it and "man up" is really -blam!-ing lame. Those that tell others that "whatever, kill yourself. It's cowardice" are the real cowards. It's not hard to be a decent human and try to help. That's what a real man/woman does.

There is a chemical component to it but there is also a psychological side to it as well. If you aren't able to find a way to combat that side it doesn't matter how many drugs they give you because you will never be happy. If you can't find the will to live and support yourself on your own than you aren't really fighting your problems and are only leaving yourself worse off.
