Re: Crossplay

tl;dr: we need/want crossplay. I'm ready to crapped on. Introduction: Okay, let's start with 𝘸𝘩𝘺 this post exist. As far as the video game industry has been around, Sony and Microsoft have been rivals and refused to have anything to do with each other, and when Microsoft invited Sony with open arms to collaborate with them to create crossplay, they declined. But, one game, (don't hate me for saying this,) changed the industry in an impactful way. This game was Fortnite. Listen, I don't like Forkknife much, but you can't say that they didn't do the impossible. Now that crossplay is in Beta for PS4 and Xbox One players, I can make my point. My point: My point is, I have multiple friends on Playstation, but I'm on Xbox, and I want to be able to play with them. Create a system like Epic Friends, called Bungie.net Friends, or a different system entirely, then we can avoid complications by using console social platforms (Xbox Live, PSN). Crossplatform: obviously, since the Xbox One and PS4 almost literally work on the same hardware, it shouldn't be hard to just connect the servers together, and concerning exclusives, we can still have them, PS4 exclusives aren't all THAT to me personally so, I don't care. And, I don't personally feel at a disadvantage if I'm matched against a PS4 player with Wavesplitter, and I don't have it. A solution for people that 𝘥𝘰 care, is choosing our lobbies, crossplatform, or not crossplatform. Either way, joining up on people could also be easy as long as a system such as Epic Friends exists. Crossprogression: exhales Alright, I know I'm going to get some hate for this, but lemme begin. Characters As a person on both PC and Xbox, having 6 characters is fine for me. If we have cross progression, I would say the characters that you have should only be accessible on the platform on which it was created. Guns, etc. All consumables and guns, shaders, emblems, etc. should be accessible on all the platforms you have a Bungie.net account linked to. The issues Now, I'm aware of the issues this brings, Fortnite is FTP, as as such you won't have to worry about stuff like, if I buy the DLC, does it carry over to the other platform. Same with silver, and the game itself. I would say no. All purchases are made on the platform you are playing on. At least, that's the least complicated way of looking at it. Collections: I believe collections should be linked to all platforms. Get an exotic on Xbox, buy it on PS4. Only exclusions are exclusives. Anyway, that's just my 50 cents, I didn't bring up PC, because PC Hardware is a bit different, and I didn't want to complicate things. Thanks for reading, and hopefully in the future, I can play with my buddy on Playstation. Sincerely, your neighborhood friendly 14 yr old. Edit: PvP lobbies can be opt-in opt-out and work similar to Fortnite.
