Ok first of all, I know my ban was because of spam.
I also know about unspecific posts. I used to argue about those when I enjoyed Destiny.
I won’t deny that it has added more grind, but in another sub post I stated why it is unsustainable to upgrade gear.
The progression is broken (hence it was exploited) and masterwork cores have few opportunities to acquire. That Spider person can charge more than 2000 shards for a core, and that is a different way of time gating progression.

Gating progression is sometimes a great way of making the progression meaningful. If the Spider sold a core for 50 legendary shards no matter how many you bought, masterwork cores would instantly lose value for people who had thousands. Meanwhile people with only about a hundred shards would be starved of them. Making the price double after every purchase is a nice way of evening out that difference that's caused by the high differential of players' currency. Plus, it makes much more sense from a realistic perspective. If the Spider has 100 masterwork cores, he's likely to raise the price once his load gets lower. Realism doesn't count for much of course, but it's still a small factor to account for.
