Very lazy. If they left it at requiring planet materials I wouldn't mind. Going and farming some by doing public events on other planets to keep them somewhat relevant makes sense. That's an actual idea they thought out. Masterwork cores though sounded like an idea made by publishers and not devs, to ensure people will HAVE to buy the DLC or their weapons will be useless. Instead of relying on just releasing awesome DLC they needed to screw with mechanics again that serve no other purpose than to make you jump through hoops with the DLC. This is so forced. I'm just going off what I have so just imagine this. We all have different loadouts for stuff. I have 3 handcannons, 2 rockets, 4 scout rifiles, 2 auto rifles, a trace rifle, 2 pulse rifles and 2 snipers. Some exotics some purple. Like Luna boots you hold on to them when you need them but not wear them 24/7. My favorite weapons are Sunshot/Midnight Coup/Crimson/Nameless/Coldheart/DARCI. I use them for different things. Crucible/raids/ect. NOW I have new weapons from DLC I want to upgrade. 16+ weapons I want to keep. Plus my exotic armor like Eye/Luna/ect. So about 24 lets say. I would roughly need 72 cores. And that's if I only upgrade them all once when I reach higher light levels. Forget about upgrading them constantly while working your way up. This mechanic does not work and throws off the entire fun of loot fest and customization.
