Just wait till you start getting really good legendaries around 515 and it's literally use whatever random shitty legendary drops to continue progressing 1 light level at a time or be underleveled for pretty much any activity that is closer to "end game content". It's choosing between progression or actually enjoying your time playing.
Point in case I have a god roll (imo) by gones pulse rifle but oh heaven's a trash teir smg with low asf damage and stability dropped at 5 light levels higher. Well shit if I want my powerful gear to drop at a higher level to allow me to continue so I can actually do the harder activities I have to handicap myself by using a far inferior gun or handicap myself by using my good gun and the enemies be even tougher.
The system surprisingly makes the grind absolutely useless because in this scenario you have NO REASON to grind. What's the point in grinding to get a good gun if I'm forced to ditch it for hours upon hours till I'm high enough light level/massed a stockpile of cores to be able to bring it up to snuff again for it to be worth it. It makes every piece of gear worthless since as soon as you get something higher light level your just gonna ditch the old stuff not because you don't like it or because it's bad but simply because the game forces you to in order to actually play it.
