I have a full time job and I play D2. 566 on my first character and 550 on my second. Just buy everyday 2/3 cores and store them. Only infuse what you really need. Bungie is not slowing down progress, it is welcoming you to use OTHER weapons. It is not affecting your light level in any way. Infusion should matter (and it matters now, you have to plan accordingly). This game is not for casual Gamers. I am not saying being casual is a bad thing, just that you have other games to play. Destiny has its soul and we lost it when D2 was released, now it is back on track. Keep it UP Bungie!

 • I wish that was true.. you should see the track record of the drops I get; edge transits and year 1 exotics.

 • Some people don't want to use OTHER weapons!

 • Then don't. There is literally nothing preventing you from using whatever weapon you want. Just going to take you longer to level up.

 • Great you have a job, welcome to the life of millions of other people. Now do you have a family? Own a house? Multiple friends you like to spend time with outside of destiny? Put all that in and this just becomes a stupid as hell grind not relevant to the game. I'd rather just have tons of really hard activities to unlock gear, such as a harder whisper of the work type missions and raids, but this grinding just to be grinding materials is plain stupid. I guarantee I am better than 80% of people when it comes to raids and PvP, but hardly have the time to do much with as many stupid little blind well completions, running the story 3 times which you shouldn't have to do more than once, having to collect planetary materials at times, the stupid heroic missions and strike completions we've done a million times, etc. I don't mind doing the hard stuff, juts absolutely hate doing the easy stuff for hours and hours. I can not for the life of me understand why people said, "Hey I don't grind enough to get the same weapons I use to be able to get in half the time. Please make us spend more arbitrary time doing nothing on this game and let us call it a grind and all the sudden love it." All the little bounties they make us complete are just the same stuff over and over again. They should really just make a hundredof little missions like WoTW and make them like ridiculously hard and have those give us the better weapons and armor.

 • I have a job and a wife and a son and another on the way and friends that I golf with and friends that I shoot pool with and friends I play Destiny with and I'm not having any trouble with the grind, just doing it smart.

 • All I am saying is they put way too much of the easy grind (strikes, daily missions, lost sector bounties, a crucible match where I am trying to get kills a certain way, doing repetitive blind Wells, getting planetary materials) into the game which keeps people away from the actual interesting content. No one wants to spend hours and hours and hours of easy grind just to get to do the events in which we actually want to do. When I want a challenge from prestige raids, I get frustrated when I have to do content a 12 year can do over and over.

 • I'll get there in due time, just gotta grind for hours this weekend (you can hear my excitement) and I got a clan I can raid with at any time and with 300+ raid clears people don't have a problem bringing me in on lfg because I can easily play my role.

 • Well that makes two of us. I have a group of 15 guys that I have been raiding with since VoG. Most of us quit D2 y1 b/c it was casual trash. But we're all back and ready to raid this weekend. hanging out with those guys doing different activities ('grinding') is what makes the game fun. Join up with some of your 1337 clan friends and have some fun.

 • Casual trash in a bad light, yet grinding in a good light? I'm sorry I keep replying to your posts, but you're attempts at a lofty stance is misguided. Playing smart and grinding are conflicted in nature. Casual trash and grinding is synonymous. As to the social aspect, I wholeheartedly agree. I do enjoy doing a myriad of activities each day as opposed to receiving a login bonus and playing a different game.

 • No need to apologize, discussion is what we're here for. But there is definitely such a thing as grinding smart. I enjoy working towards something and becoming more powerful over time, but I also enjoy finding the most efficient way to do so. I don't have 12 hours each day to play (like the 18 people who beat the raid the first weekend). If I did I probably would. Anyway, what I mean is, you can certainly get to max light only by playing crucible, it's just going to take you a long time. You can also get to max light and only ever use the same set of armor and weapons because you infuse everything all the time, it's just going to take you a longer time. I like the feeling of sacrificing short term to more quickly achieve my long term goals - and I believe that's the way most classical MMO grinding types feel. It's all about the payoff at the end, and then the freedom to explore once you get there. Destiny 1 was great for that. The first few months were all about getting max light from the raid. Then the months after that were all about enjoying it in the crucible, and experimenting with some different weapons, and helping newbies get through the raid, too (and it's easier because you are now stronger). That's the Destiny experience I enjoyed - NOT D2y1 where everyone was max light public events after 2 weeks and the raid was utterly pointless.

 • Oh, yea that I agree with. I dont mind the grind for a weapon that has that perfect combination (I hate the term godroll since not everyone wants the same thing ie- kill clip sucks but that's a different conversation) to make quality of life improvements. There most definitely is a length of time associated with min maxing versus shortcutting max light, such as not worrying about armor perks, or finding that right combination to make you your most efficient.

 • You have 10 raid clears. Barely even over 100 games in the crucible.....I have close to 300 raid clears and over 500 games in the crucible. You just get on and do the minimum to raise you light level and nothing else. Obviously this game hasnt been something you enjoyed and just because you can get on, run through easy story missions, easy strikes, easy public events and all the easy stuff in the game doesn't mean you are doing anything right. The only thing your time has shown is light level and if you defend that as being something to showcase then you are wrong. I can get on all day and farm those easy events, run through the story missions which take forever for 3 characters and repetitive and farm materials but who in the hell enjoys that? That's not what the game should be about. Doing the most boring and repetitive activities just to be able to do the fun stuff takes way too much time and if you get on just to do that and take all that time away from family to say, "Well my light level is this high, but that's about all I really do is grind stuff for light level," then that's not what this game should be about.

 • While you're at it you can check my D1 stats to see how much I play, try 2500 crucible matches and plenty of raid clears. And those don't even count the 10s of characters I created and deleted running 5-6 raids per week during VoG. (Of course, that was before the family).

 • I had to give up on D1 when I grinded 13 straight hours trying to get a treasure key and didn't get a single one. Kinda makes someone say F it and do something else.

 • It's not my fault you are a moron. What are you even doing if you're not doing the weekly challenges? I'm having a great time doing the plethora of activities that they've offered to us to get powerful gear.

 • I buy all materials from the Spider. Haven’t grind any materials whatsoever. The possibilities are there and you just have to be clever about it. Do not take the long path if you can take a shortcut.

 • I have bought many many supplies from him. I am the unlucky person who somehow always need the same thing to infuse. I have hundreds of certain ones, but none of a few because it hasn't been even in what I need.

 • You can’t be serious. Any game has its flaws. The overall content quality of this DLC is REALLY good. Just because you have been complaining (with every right) for the past year doesn’t mean you can’t acknowledge when Bungie gets something right. It’s just complaining for the sake of complaining. You will never be pleased.

Great, they created a DLC which people enjoy, BUT they messed up crucial parts of that, including the progression itself. I’m well aware that every game has flaws, but they don’t wait 3 months to change the things which matter most to the players (changing upgrade system apparently doesn’t prioritise over nerfing sleeper).
