Hey all,
We’re aware of reports that Sleeper Simulant feels strong in Gambit. The Sandbox team is currently looking at potential changes to help with this. We want to retain the strength of the weapon, but tune it so it doesn’t feel to be the only viable power weapon in this mode.
We’ll provide more details when possible. Stay tuned to official channels for updates.

So overpowered and over used in there right now

Are you aware that SBMM is in Iron Banner yet it is NOT the competitive playlist?

6 RepliesHeadshot = Kill 2 Body

5 RepliesLinear fusions are made for long range precision firing, they deserve to be more powerful than weapons around the same typing (snipers and scouts) generally because they take Time and Patience to use, you have to have time to charge it and patience to land the perfect shot, if ANY part of YOUR body is exposed (granted if it was "just a pixel" it should do what it does and fry your body. I don't understand the complaints about it.

86 RepliesYou didn't do anything about Graviton Lance and Vigilance Wing, why start now? People whining is part of life. None of us are being forced to play Gambit. If you get cross mapped with sleeper then somewhere along the line YOU f'd up. When an invader comes, hide, keep your head on a swivel, bum rush him/her, whatever, but at the end of the day, you win some, you lose some. Once sleeper gets nerfed something else will take it's place and then the whole stupid nerf cycle will repeat itself!!

7 RepliesThis lengthy "PR" response translates to another nerf. Git gud Bungie and make design choices based on data, not the whines and tears of scrubs. Muted.

10 RepliesEdited by Fishyb: 9/19/2018 11:16:38 AMFor F sake bungie stop changing things across the board. If the weapon has an issue in pvp, then change it in pvp and LEAVE IT ALONE IN PVE. The community is sick of you messing with weapons and trashing them for pve.
-
18 RepliesThank you. I like how your not nerfing weapons to the ground anymore and i appreciate how the sandbox team is taking things a little slower this time around. I think thats how it should be done.

Any power weapon is going to wreck people. On top of that, it’s exotic. It’s good that you’re only tweaking it so it takes more skill to use but it’s honestly not a needed “nerf”. I never use sleeper in gambit and I still do pretty good even though I don’t play it much. The two tailed fox rocket launcher has tracking and fires 2 rockets (which is my main heavy weapon) and it can kill more people with one shot so that’s the reason I feel this nerf is not needed. It’s doing what it’s supposed to do

2 RepliesEdited by Gunslinger: 9/19/2018 4:47:01 PMJust do what you did with Whisper. your only source of heavy is from ads while sleeper is equipped. You can't grab the heavy supply box.
-
The pvp players always have to ruin it for the pve players. An exotic should feel and work like an exotic. First sleeper and they won't stop there until any and everything that can kill gets nerfed.
-
2 RepliesDon’t you remember what’s happened to D1??? So you decide to ONLY listen to those whining babies AGAIN!!!
-
2 RepliesYou sleeper users have turned into the crybabies.

The weapon isn't the problem, the Gambit mechanics are
-
5 RepliesOr just disable the sleeper from being used in gambit so people who use it in strikes and raids don't have to use a weapon that is nerfed

63 RepliesEdited by TheSneakerFlip: 9/19/2018 8:07:18 AMOnce again a PvE DPS weapon will suffer because of the PvP side of the game. The Truth got nerfed in D1 and people stopped using it completely. I use Sleeper in PvE for the DPS on bosses. Been using Sleeper since Destiny 1 and did the grind to get the Sleeper back in D2. The problem with Gambit is that it is a hybrid of both PvE and PvP. The complaint is coming from the PvP side because they are getting killed by the Sleeper. I been killed by it a bunch of times but I don’t cry about it. It is a good DPS weapon for the Prime Evil and it is unfortunate that it affects the guardian vs guardian side but that should have been thought out before hand. What’s next? People will start using the Coil for Prime Evil damage and some opposing guardian gets killed by one of the coil shots and cry for a nerf on that too? Bungie said they wanted to make exotics feel powerful and they left they Graviton Lance alone even though that was the only weapon I seemed to get killed by in PvP. That’s like going to war with another country and asking them not to use their planes and tanks because it is killing people too quickly. It’s a firefight so who wouldn’t want to have that advantage? What’s stopping YOU from using the Sleeper to get them before they get you? How many times has anyone been killed by a Sleeper Simulant in regular Crucible? I been killed by it maybe 3 times total in PvP, so this clearly is just a Gambit issue and the fact that it is a hybrid PvE PvP mode.

1 ReplyLmao at all the hiss crying about a great change. They didn’t nerf the damage they just knocked its aim assist down, which isn’t a problem if you can aim. No skill weapon turned into a semi skill weapon. Good job on this one Bungie.
-
Hey guess what. 3 times as many motes babked as lost. Banked 44 lost 0. Doent count. Bungie hasn't discovered zero yet.
-
That is a pretty good change to ease in, thanks bingo!

This is a nice attempt at adjusting without over nerfing. I know these forums are littered with emotionally charged guardians arguing for or against these practices but tbh as a returning d1 player I’m happy to see this approach and an attempt at rewarding precision. I hope we maintain this route and you guys are able to find a happy medium that casual and hardcore players enjoy simultaneously. Although judging by forum responses i think you’re SOL.

3 RepliesIts weird. People insult those asking for help in Gambit about Sleeper. Theyre the ones crying hardest 😂 "Dont nerf it, players just need to learn to hide in spawn for 30s instead of getting cross mapped in one shot by the most accessible weapon in video game history. Its that easy, fellas!"

An so the nerfs have started.

1 ReplyQuick response - this is good. But slow down fellas, you are making changes to a game mode that we are just starting g to learn how to play! Gambit is amazing! Invasion gives it suspense I dont get from any other game mode! Please leave it alone until most of us have figured out the basics!!!

6 RepliesSo there are currently 2 exotic linear fusion rifles in the game, sleeper simulant and the queen breaker. In their current states, queen breaker can one shot to the head but 2 shot to the body, sleeper will 1 shot no matter what. That being said, why would I ever choose the queen breaker over sleeper at all?
