Anyone else feel tether is still pretty lackluster?
I certainly do. Still unable to OHK non super guardians is a major disappointment and I can’t help but feel the range might have been nerfed but that’s just me. It just doesn’t seem as long as usual. Maybe it could fire faster, but that’s not too necessary.
Also the smoke grenade since the sandbox change seems a bit useless as well since it’s so easy to just propel yourself out of it. Not entirely sure it just feels easier to escape from.
Nightstalkers the only hunter subclass I generally use in PvP
For PVE tether should stack with heavy weapons it would make it a much more viable option in future activities. Granted in PVE it’s generally good all around so unless someone else has any suggestions please list them.
Also bottom tree can anyone tell me if they use it. I almost never see it which pretty much tells me that no one finds use in it.

Edited by Chemical Freak: 9/4/2018 12:16:00 AMYes, I think the super needs a buff. I'm not sure why it doesn't kill when you hit someone, it could also tether faster. I've killed tons of hunters while being tethered by them, it's sad. The only reason why hunters are the most played is because they have cloaks.

What are you talking about? https://guardian.gg/2/class-stats?platform=console&mode=5&start=2018-08-25&end=2018-09-01 Look at kd all hunter subclasses are the best. And look at win ratio arc staff and night stalker are also the best. Get good kid!

Edited by coolcrazy229: 9/3/2018 4:14:18 AMI think there should be more damage resistance while casting shadow shot and for few seconds after that ... That should fix it ... its funny that you should be cautious while casting your super and after casting that you should hide and shoot ,.. thats stupid .... I am nightstalker hunter main ... I played so many games .. two thing I definitely suggest is 1) Damage resistance during and after casting shadow shot. 2) Tether should be fast and strong enough to shut down super and dose not allow to cast super while tethered. The felt awful once when I tether 2 guardians and went to close kill them and one of the titan slammed fist of havoc.. How in the hell can he cast his super while suppressed ,,.. what’s the meaning of suppressed ... just to slow them down ... WTF ... titans suppressor Granades are much more efficient comparatively ... Bungie please fix it I saw in recent patch notes ... that tether is more reliable .. but I don’t see and difference ... may be little faster I guess ... but it would be great if can include above two changes !!!!

Edited by lepidoptera: 9/2/2018 7:39:25 PMIt needs to OHK in PvP, suppress supers on hit, and tether activation should almost be instant. Smoke should prevent you from sprinting and should only allow you to normal jump. It should limit the teleportation ability of Captains and Vex as well. Tether should also stack with heavy weapons because why not.
-
Bring back the option to tether raid bosses please! I was horribly disappointed when I found out tethering Calus did nothing.

Does it activate faster now? Heard this was a buff they were suppose to give it -
I think Tether needs an overhaul in general. Its effective in PvE, but should be more fun to use. In PvP its just annoying.
-
use tether as a defensive super, activate it when someones pushing you with their super and shut them down
-
Nightstalker in PvP is still amazing imo, we have the best neutral game still, our super could use a slight damage buff but the change to it where it instantly shuts down supers instead of the delay is amazing. Now the bottom tree, on ps4 I unfortunately have the whole tree unlocked and I have to say it’s pretty lacklustre, but on pc I have everything but the quiver perk unlocked and I have to say the bottom tree + the rigs is orb heaven and I love it.
-
Shadowshot felt a lot more powerful for me back in D1, for both PvE and PvP. In D2, something about it is off.
-
Edited by ForgottenX: 9/1/2018 5:51:09 PMI use bottom tree all the time lol, it’s a blast. But I will admit that in higher pressure scenarios I pretty much only use arcstrider right now, although bottom tree is great for going invisible and getting revives. Definitely looking forward to the new nightstalker tree.
-
Skull of dire ahamkara for my warlock is the new tether, I always get my super back nova bombing with top tree perks
-
It needs to one shot on direct hit. The "balance" to rig didnt help at all either. I feel the rig is now even more inconsistent.
-
Can’t really tel the difference I like it still though in pve and pvp. Pvp it has invisibility and smoke and grenade which it damn good in pvp, I would take this over a one hit quiver shot any day.

It’s sad that the only thing tether is good for is getting orbs for people with supers that can actually do something -
tether is a PvE SUPPORT super, it works wonders in PvE, dont expect it to outshine any other supers in the crucible
-
People use bottom tree in mayhem a lot but yeah nightstalker still feels weak. It’s the sub I mainly run. I think the new tree and super will change that though, we get our poison nades back 😁
-
Yup. At least in PvP, it’s still a meme. By far worst super in the game.
-
Play warlock, then get smoked. You'll see how annoying it is
-
Honestly, now that shotguns are special ammo, I think tether is fine.

Edited by Ghostfire239: 9/1/2018 8:21:37 PMThe Orpheus nerf has really pissed me off when it comes to Nightstalker (and yes overall, it’s a nerf that can be considered a buff in very specific circumstances). I used to have to tether 10 enemies (give or take) and I knew I was going to get my super back. Now? I had to tether around 14-16 red bars to get it back. I hardly used to use Nightstalker in PvP or PvE, except when I was doing public events, or my team needed an orb generator. Now, anything outside of escalation protocol, I will be used Arcstrider or Golden gun. Nightstalker doesn’t feel worth the trouble.

When I'm on my hunter I almost exclusively play gunslinger so I'm not really experienced with nightstalker. While I can understand the issue with smokes if they prevented double jumps it would bring back the wombo combo which was a huge annoyance in pvp in D1. Then with tether I think it's better being a suppression CC ability than having it ohk on the initial shot. In pve yes it should have a good buff to damage on ads when hit with the arrow so it takes less time to deal with the bigger things
-
6 shot tether makes more orbs then pretty much any other super, and while I'm bummed about the slight Orpheus nerf, as long as you time your shots right it's still not hard to get it back running way of the trapper.
-
I hate how tether overrides damage buffs. So tethering the boss decreases dps.
-
bungie buff the new dawnblade. It don't OSK.
-
Way of the pathfinder should become a roaming super with damage resistance and 1 shot normal guardians
