That's a stereotype I work to stifle. Hence, can you tell me the last time that happened, including date, place and motive? In addition, what were the professions of the only two individuals who used lawfully owned fully automatic firearms in order to commit murder since 1934? I ask since, other than those two homicides, it's literally unheard of. Yet there are those who seem to think it occurs somewhat frequently. Note: I'm not trying to put you on the spot. I'm asking in the hopes you'll look for the answer. Think of it as an educational opportunity. :)

Tick tock to the next school shooting. It's any day now!

It's just a joke dude

Edited by zNapSack: 8/19/2018 6:15:15 AMIt didn't come across that way. And it's not funny to begin with. Then again, I have a different perspective.

humor is subjective, I didn't even find it funny, it just seemed like a cheap joke to me, but still just a joke.

2012...dark knight screening in colorado movie theater...motive guy was nuts?
-
Edited by zNapSack: 8/19/2018 6:27:05 AMNo. He had a semi-auto rifle, a shotgun and two handguns. Since passage of the National Firearms Act in 1934 only two individuals have used legally, owned fully automatic weapons, to commit murder in the U.S.. All others have been unlawfully owned and/or illegally modified. Both of which are federal felonies by themselves.

Yes you keep focusing on the details, the tecnicalities are what matter here 👍
-
That's the usual pro-gun defense on the internet. 'Your snark wasn't technically accurate, so let me focus on the details you got wrong so that I can ignore the sentiment and act like I've addressed your point.'
-
Ah so you want to get technical on the word machine gun
-
Ikr .. ridiculous. I'll change it to weapons.

Edited by zNapSack: 8/19/2018 5:18:02 AMAs a matter fact, yes. However, I'll explain the difference. A fully automatic firearm is defined by the BATFE as being "any firearm that is capable of firing more than one round per single activation of the trigger mechanism". Note "capable of" does not always mean every FA firearm will do so every time since a highly skilled individual may be able to limit the number to only a single round, although it's very difficult to impossible in some cases since the mechanical action simply prevents any less than a fixed number of rounds from being fired. On the other hand, a semi-auto firearm is only capable of firing only one round per single activation of the trigger mechanism. However, this can be done rapidly. For example, 'bump-firing' is a technique by which a semi-auto weapons recoil is utilized in order to bump the trigger with ones finger more rapidly than by ones muscular action alone. Therefore, bump-firing requires the use of a implement such as short stick or simply using a belt loop on ones pants and the thumb on ones hand. Or, the use of a Slide-Fire stock which is a commercially available device that does the same thing. Although commonly called Bump-Fire stocks, that is a misnomer as it describes a technique, not the device itself. Btw, I'm not saying this to be pedantic. But rather because knowledge is power. And the more one knows the less likely they are to be misled by those who seek to do just that in order to promote an agenda.

Alright then on US soil probably hasnt been on since 1934....however since 1984 i would say every country that went to war with america
-
Yes, the two I mentioned occurred after 1934. The last being a murder committed by a law enforcement officer when, on September 15th, 1988, a 13-year veteran of the Dayton, Ohio police department, Patrolman Roger Waller, then 32, used his fully automatic MAC-11 .380 caliber submachine gun to kill a police informant, 52-year-old Lawrence Hileman. Patrolman Waller pleaded guilty in 1990, and he and an accomplice were sentenced to 18 years in prison.
