Why is it so hard to continue growing after you hit 340?
My friend and I have been grinding out strikes and stuff for 370 recommended and still not getting any better gear to continue growing. I played the first destiny and you didnt hit the soft cap until 370ish. I would like to know why it is so hard to grind out better gear even when winning pvp games. I would also like to know how to continue to grow.

Am I missing something? Just do the summer solstice gear... two days later, 405 gear and everything drops at 385 pretty much after that. Doing the normal grind is real if you are not doing the raids every week. But the best run for a week is, raid.. get drops. Milestones, they drop higher due to the guaranteed raid drops. Then repeat.

1 ReplyAs others said, you’ve hit the softcap. Now it’s milestones, trials, and raids from here on out but you can also keep getting high level gear for hitting fabled and legend in quickplay. This weekend there’s a 3x’s valor boost so it will be easy to rank up.

Just run the raids

Because 340 is the soft cap. The only way to get upgrades now is to complete your weekly Milestones, the Raid and Trials. I believe Escalation Protocol armour (must have a key for the wave 7 chest) and resetting your Valor rank in the Crucible will also drop gear at an upgrade.
