The Nordic culture represented in the destiny universe:

Today we look to the Norse culture presented in the destiny universe.
i make reference in this post to something that is quite questionable but I’ve linked it to what I’ve interpreted it as.
Weapons: - Painted sorg SR5 - song in Norse. - Niflheim Frost - Niflheim is one of the nine worlds in Norse mythology. Primarily a realm of primordial ice and cold, with the frozen rivers of Élivágar and the well of Avergelmir, from which come all the rivers. - Halfdan-D - A Viking leader and commander of the Great Heathen Army which invaded the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of England, First Viking king of Northumbria and one of the sons of Ragnar Lodbrok. - Herja-D - A Valkyrie attested in the longer of the 2 Nafnapular lists found in the Prose Edda. - Gjallerhorn - Name of a horn, associated with the god Heindallr and the wise being Mimir. It’s said the horns sound will notify the beginning of the end of the world, which is fitting given the rocket launchers destructive effects. - Garmr SR1 - a wolf or dog associated with Hel and Ragnarök and described as a blood-stained guardian of Hel’s gate. - The Valkyrie - named after the warriors of Valhalla. Armour: Thanks to BookGoblin (you legend)
- Atgeir gear set - Viking Age polearm
Subclass: - sunbreakers - basic idea similar to that of Thor, the god of thunder. The method of acquiring the subclass is very reminiscent of the mythological creation of Mjolnir; both hammers are created using a forge whilst a dark force tries to interfere with creating the weapon (vex in destiny and Loki in mythology). Characters: - Völuspa - in universe, Rasputin referred to Völuspa as need for use of its resources alongside Charlemagne. (For now I see it as a sub-mind). Völuspa is a Norse poem by Poetic Edda. It tells the story of a volva addressing Odin about the coming end. - Tormod - Tormod Kark was the slave and friend of Hákon Sigurdsson (Hákon Earl). (Both Tormod and Haakon were members of the iron wolves). - Haakon - Haakon Sigurdsson was tense facto ruler of Norway from about 975 to 995.
thanks for reading. Anything I missed leave below and I’ll edit OP with a credit to the first person to bring it up.
