so why haven't the vex launched an all out attack on the almighty?

The planet with their giant super important simulation was being eaten by it (and might still be eating it, we only decoupled it from the sun) I'm kind of surprised they haven't telaported onto it and tried shutting it down or converting it into something to nullify the sun like in the future that they attempted to make, and you gotta admit it'd make an interesting strike :p

  • Because whether they want it or not that would be stepping into a war with the cabal on mars.

    • Mercury was being eaten by the Almighty?? I think you might have that confused with Nessus being eaten by the Leviathan. And they did lunch an assault on the Leviathan. How do you think Argos got stuck there?

      • More important, billions of Vex and yet they only attack us a handfull at a time..... really? Why not send wave after wave while we were in the Vault of glass and overwhelm us? I stopped trying to make sense out of all of this ages ago and just enjoy the game.

I'm confused as to why the Almighty isn't being converted by all the radiolaria it's consumed. Same as Leviathan, all though the radiolaria itself is being converted into royal wine.

          •
so why haven't the vex launched an all out attack on the almighty?
There has not been a comic book detailing it yet, so it is not canon. The "lore team" (aka comic book writers) likely has yet to figure out how to turn that scenario into a perverted love interest story.

            • Bc in the end the almighty was more of a treat to us. So since were involve there's no reason for them to get there hands dirty lol...but really it's bc the vex can't teleport to where ever. They have to have some type of hold over an area. They have limits. Now if a vex portal was on the almighty they would have the ability to travel

              • The real question is: if vex have the means and technology to travel in time, why haven't the cabal formed an all out attack to steal this technology?

                • They really didn't have to, they figured we would or one of their biggest threats can be taken care of without doing anything. It's a win-win for them, plus their main concern for them was their forces in Nessus especially with the arrival of Calus.

                • The Vex are playing chess. The Red Legion were playing Checkers. The goal of the Vex are to be the last species standing at the end of the Universe. Anything that doesn't serve that end is expendable. If Ghaul is willing to destroy the entire solar system and a dormant Traveller WITH it.....why would the Vex want to stop them? Shit, the Cabal are doing the Vex's work FOR them. Since our Light is one of the few thigns they can't understand....can't simulate...and is a prime threat to the success of their ultimate goals.

                  • The vex don't fully control their simulation engine anymore as stated by osiris the many times I've cleaned up his rampant experiments. The relationship between mercury and the vex is in disarray because of the (underwhelming) events with osiris.

                            • An excellent question ! My flip answer is that Osiris was interfering. Maybe it was a risk he had to take, Sagira. But perhaps they weren’t able to engage in space? We still haven’t seen anything like Vex spaceships, unless I’m mistaken? Or - and here is where I’d bet my glimmer - the cabal had proactively engaged the vex to keep them away? They tussled extensively on Mars - I recall some grimoire from D1 (Rasputin, maybe?) where the cabal were prepared for - and anticipating - a Vex attack/materialization. Far as I know, humans don’t have that knowledge. So I wouldn’t be surprised if the Cabal were prepared.

                              • Considering the Red Legion took down the City in a single attack (and the first time the Cabal in general even come to Earth) when they arrived, being able to fight the Vex on Mercury and win would've been pretty easy for them. Heck, they even took Mars effortlessly and destroyed the Black Garden portal, effectively ejecting the Vex from the planet. The Vex more than likely tried to stop the Cabal from invading Mercury but could not stop them, let alone even trying to take the Almighty.
