No, I'm not. I'm saying there are ways to eventually reward players for their time invested, rather than a purely random system that allows some to be so unlucky that they're NEVER rewarded. I played D1 for over 1000 hours and never got the Gjallarhorn as a drop. That was literally game breaking for me as there were assholes that would boot me from raid teams not because of lack of skill, not because I hadn't invested enough "hardcore" time, but because of dumb luck. Pure RNG is a fundamentally terrible system. For every player hooked on it there's one or more that drops the game. For every guy that feels his loot is a badge of honor showing his 100 hours of dedication there is some lucky doof that got it on day one. There are smarter, more creative, and more challenging ways to make loot a meaningful reward for time invested that is an actual testament to dedication and skill. Pure RNG is easy, cheap, and absolutely vicious to some players. Everything about the WotW mission is done right except for how it begins.
