Double Amen. I'm an unlucky person.. ever since pc diablo. I would watch friends and clanmates get all the drops i never got, to the point it became a running joke, and still is for the guys who have gamed with me since diablo 2.
Id say it had to do with a "luck seed" that is created upon account creation, since activision blizzard and bungie are all part of some conglomerate, which others have discussed back in the day of diablo, but then you'd all tell me to take off the tinfoil hat. But the fact remains, RNGesus is not as kind to everyone, so you end up with "haves" and "have nots", caused not cause some "aren't good enough" or "deserving" but because they fell on the wrong side of RNG more often than someone else. That's poor game design.
I have those special items i could get by completing quests or challenges. No one can beat RNG, but there are those that are clearly luckier than others. Or maybe its just me... and im a bad RNG gravity well.
But apparently not for everyone. Some got lucky and got in the first time. Some wait. So it may or maynot be universal. The number of people voicing the gitgud or stop whining points of view clearly indicate , not everyone experiences the same bad luck on cabal streaks....
It just depends on when you are trying to do the quest. If you are trying during the cabal streak, everyone is experiencing the cabal streak.
Some people got lucky and got on at the right time. Their game isn't different.
