I have to say this is unacceptable. I pay a premium for my internet connections and don't want to be playing with those who have crap connections that cause rubberbanding and all the other issues associated with terrible internet. The community has been telling you this for years. We don't want to have our game experience messed with due to poor quality connections. put those players together to enjoy the game at the level of internet they have and leave the rest of us to play against good or bad players fine.. but not with poor connections.

I haven't come across any rubber banding guardians with terrible internet lately. Its either you're getting unlucky or your internet is not that good. Check your NAT type and try keeping it to open for a better experience.
-
While I appreciate the information.. it is not my internet that is the problem. read below.. I have done everyting I can to ensure my gaming is not the issue. port forwarding, dedicated gaming internet, direct connection, fiber connection, 6ms ping, etc..
-
Then you're just getting unlucky my friend. I play on NA servers on PC and i haven't played against a person with bad internet since update 1.2.3.
-
where do you live? it is directly related to that. If you live in a major center or have a bigger population around you, it is more likely you will have these issues. Why? because the difference in services people pay for, the population density provides more guardians to draw from with vastly different internet usage etc.

Yea, you're correct. They should fix the connection based matchmaking but should completely disable SBMM. That's the ideal version of PVP according to me.
-
I would have no issue with that at all. I want good connections. in quickplay id be fine getting beat by better players etc.. but, not by bad connections

Edited by Cicada: 7/27/2018 5:12:41 PMDude check your nat type, check your speed connections with a speedtest, are you playing on wireless? If you are wireless is garbage for a reliable connection unless your consoles directly next to your internet box or your connections wired you will always have interference theres a few nat types, strict, moderate, and open . Open is the best one... you want an open one
-
why are you responding to me this way. I have a direct connection. 6ms ping, forwarded ports and fiber connection. I AM NOT THE PROBLEM. Those players with poor isp, bad internet and using wifi are the problem and quite frankly I shouldn't have my gaming experience tarnished because of others connection issues.
-
Edited by Cicada: 7/27/2018 5:19:19 PMWell shiiiet.. that doesn't sound good at all.. the game has been a little jittery and laggy as of late , how longs this been happening to you.. sorry i didnt mean to come off as rude, chill out bro

figured you must be replying to the wrong post. someone who has terrible internet.. To me, its like cheating honestly. the rubber banding, the skipping and lack of visibility due to missed or lost packets etc.. Bungie is responsible for allowing these terrible connections to enter play with others and its wrong. Let them play, fine, put them in lobbies all together like a bunch of cows with hoof and mouth disease, the rest of us do not want to have to deal with the crappy connections they have.
-
Tell me about, thats all i had to deal with back in D1, id get paired with people who had wallmart internet and it would make playing impossibly annoying. But compared to those days it has gotten a lil better, still i agree with you matches should be based on connection distance and network stability to create the most balanced gaming environments
-
I will take a loss to a better player any day.. I can't stand playing against shit connections. I have done the math.. a decent connection from Calgary Canada should be able to play with a similar connection in London England and a circle that far out with near zero latency issues. Its the problem of users loading up the bandwidth, having shitty isp and other user based or isp based issues. I pay a premium for my internet connection and shouldn't have to deal with someone elses terrible connetions.. simple as that. PC games have had minimum connection requirements for years and they force players to have more than a potatoe in many instances. Time consoles start doing the same or createing playlists that use connection as the main matchmaking condition.

Edited by phoenixianfire: 7/27/2018 5:45:46 PMyou do realize the complaint your making is not controllable right???? Playing on console doesn't gurantee you a steady connection 24/7 even on a fiber and open ported connections your still running through your consoles servers (PSN or XBL) which in the end dictates your connection speed
-
yes. and I play on console. You missed the point. The point is that many game developers for PC force players to have stable, better than good connections for gaming to ensure the experience is not tarnished with trash internet connections. Console games need to start doing the same.
