Kinda related to the Romans, the Parthian Shot pulse rifle from D1.
Parthians and Romans were kicking the snot out of each other for 100's of years. Parthians were horse Archers and one of their infamous tactics was to feign retreat, get cavalry to follow them and then turn on their saddles and shoot backwards. They pretty much wiped out Crassus's(of the original Triumphirate) army after luring them into a trap with this. Romans named it the Parthian Shot.

Parthian shot, nergal PR4 and Zarinaea-D are all weapons that reference Parthian history. I didn’t include them cause I’m pretty sure they only fought the Romans, and were never absorbed into the empire or republic.

Just mentioned because Rome gave the name. Parts of it were and then taken back, then taken again, then through infighting they were taken over by Sassanid's, who pretty much did the same back and forth with Rome. did they war with Armenia but that was more of an indirect way to mess with Rome as Armenia were the first kingdom to go full Christianity. BTW on a side note, you know a lot of the Weapons from D1 started going with Irish names\lore, Aoife Rua(irish name but Rua is red, so Red Eva, basically married Strongbow an infamous Norman in Irish history), Cúchulainn-D ancient irish hero, there's a few more i can't remember.

Edited by AnCapaillMor: 7/27/2018 11:34:50 AMIran\Iraq, part of the old Persian empire. If you're into that kind stuff, there's some good podcasts out there, Dan Carlin's Hardcore history, Mike Duncan's history of rome(which is pretty extensive). Cuchaillain aka Setanta was a famous irish lore legend, famous for killing a wolfhound with a sliotar(ball from an irish sport) and tieing himself to a rock to fight off an army so noone could get behind him or he couldn't retreat. Wow Manannan i did know was irish.

The podcasts are something I’d be interested in, thanks.
