Networking Issues with Roommate

So I have been having an ongoing issue while playing Destiny 2 with my roommate. This goes back to even the days of D1. Basically, whenever we group up to play together, we constantly have networking issues with disconnecting when trying to join matches and things of that nature. We have gone into our PS4's and messed with the settings there and even some port forwarding in the two routers we use. I have read some other articles that states bungie knows of this issue and has since D1. Sadly, from what I have read still no resolution. We do not have this problem playing any other game together and would like to be able to play without problems. Any advice?

 • Greetings! Thank you for your report. You might find success by following the steps in our Network Troubleshooting Guide. Many connection issues can be solved by using the troubleshooting steps. If you are still having issues, you may want to try the Advanced Steps. Particularly, enabling UPnP and IPV6. Let me know if these steps help, or if you have any additional questions.

 • Bungie should pay me for this: 1. Log into your modem/ router on your wired computer. Type something like 192.168..... in your internet browser and then log in. 2. Find UPNP (Universal Plug And Play) 3. Turn it ON. If it's not on, then you will keep having problems if you are playing on two consoles on one modem/ router. You are welcome :)

 • This is usually because Destiny is a P2P game and running two concurrent connections on one network tends to become quite hinky. First off, both of you must be on WIRED connections. Then make sure that UPNP is enabled on your router. Finally, this is the step I do which seems to minimize errors in my household. Boot up first PS4, connect to PSN, boot up Destiny 2. Then boot up second PS4, go to settings, network settings, full network test (run 2x), then go back to desktop and boot Destiny 2. In theory, it forces the PS4 to grab a different more open port rather than the same default port.
