Calus was kicked out of his own empire by Ghual and a couple of other people Calus trusted.
I could explain every detail but this is as short as it gets from me

I’m probably gonna have to edit OP. See I may have found an event in history that kind of reflects the events of the midnight coup. There are some differences here and there, but it made sense in my head.
-
And that event would be?
-
Like I said though, there are some differences in both events.
-
Otho overthrowing emperor Galba.
-
The name Otho actually sounds very similar to Otzot, one of the people who helped Ghual. You might be on to something
-
It’s funny. They sound similar but I had Otho compared to the Consul as both had a vengeance against the emperor and neither directly participated in the respective coups.
-
That makes sense. I do remember something about the developers saying that Calus was heavily inspired by Caligula, you should look him up
-
Just did. I can see how calus was influenced by him mainly in terms of greed and that which he did for the people. But the Roman emperor was depicted as being quite diabolical. He executed people and was heavily tyrannical. From what we know of Calus he’s quite just.
-
Edited by superskybro: 7/14/2018 8:34:06 PMAnother similarity was that both faced an uprising and lived a life of grandeur
-
Just that one was of the self and the other for the people.
-
Precisely, and even then we don't know how kind hearted Calus really was
-
True. We’ve only had his side of the story. That’d be a cool lore thing to include. Perspectives of the coup members during his reign.
-
Well if I recall correctly, if you bought the Destiny 2 collectors edition you get an invitation from Calus detailing the names and relationships he had with the people who betrayed him. So Ghual, Consol, Otzot, Calus daughter Etc are all listed in that invitation, perhaps you should check that out for your Roman post

In my reference to Otho/Galba there wasn’t many other conspirators other than Otho and members of Galba’s praetorian guard. But another user has noted connections between Ghaul and a person known as Brutus, who was involved in the assassination of Julius Caeser (which I’m looking into now).

Liktour shayotet-the emperors protector and Kytol the princess imperial. Kytol has been trained and influenced by evocate general Umun’arath the primus of all legions, that the cabal should’ve stuck to a militaristic ideology. Liktour was pretty pissed at taking shots for Calus.
-
Wow you have read it then. My bad

Edited by THECHUBBYNINJA2: 7/14/2018 9:05:41 PMWell you saying that must mean that my understanding of the events are good. Phew. Granted I haven’t read the collectors book.
-
You could probably find what it says on the internet somewhere, hope this helped
-
Trust me it did. Thx 👍
